I've had my garden trash not picked up before because I had too much, the pieces were too large, the piles were not bundled.. so I hear ya. However if you notice your bin says "Garden Waste Service" - soil is not a garden waste, so why don't you get your grandson to hit the weed roots against the ground to shake off the extra dirt.. Lets not make this into something it's not.
