@faccina90 i mostly just use WHSmith sketching pencils, or any pencils i can get my hands on really, nothing special :P

@jesusaudon2612 i actually started doing portraits through photoshop painting, i only started drawing portraits in pencil a year or 2 ago, all i can say is watch as many of these sorts of videos as you can, thats how i learnt, you kinda pick up techniques as you watch some tutorials/speedpaintings. :)

Stunning, I'm a moderatly good drawer, I just rush through everything because I lack patience. Im still learning about all the pencil types and ect, Which are darker, lighter. And, how the hell do you shade like that ? Its amazing XD

thanks, im glad you liked it :) B's are darker (because they are softer) and H's are lighter(harder) easy way to remember it is H = Hard. at least thats how i remembered it when i was learning :D as for shading its just a case of the amount on pressure you put on the pencil, and until you can control it well enough you could always just use the light/darker pencils to compensate :D hope this helps, and good luck in your future drawings :)

Lol i couldnt give out any tips on animé sorry im just trying to learn how to draw in that style myself, and yes i do use a tablet for my computer drawings, makes it alot easier :P theres lots of helpful videos on youtube regarding anime, thats how im learning :D thanks for your comment :D
