The best part of the hitman games for me were sneaking past a bunch of people, taking out the target, and excaping without anyone knowing. This seems more Splinter Cell then the Hitman I know and love, but I'll give it a chance because I love the series. I already heard from a IGN preview that it's far more linear, not good sign.

I wish there was two game modes, for those who wants to play it as a shooter or an action game, and for those who want to play the classic Hitman experience. The both sound appealing to me, but if they did that then they really could please everybody

I for one would play it on Purist Mode first, and on my 2nd play I would try all the other casual features for fun

We don't want a linear action game with set pieces, we want to be thrown in open maps with a few objectives that you need to complete, and then you figure out what you can do, how you can do it, etc... Blood Money was perfect, I don't know why they changed it to typical action game. Oh right, they need to make it more "accessible" to occasional gamers so they can sell more copies...

oh GOD people are still blabbing about Splinter Cell Conviction, guess what, it was a great game, just cause you couldn't play it stealthy doesn't mean it didn't have stealth, get over yourself already, SCC was an amazing games, with great features, many stealth walkthrough have been done for levels, you just need to try hard.

Hitman Absolution is looking great too, and there is a mode called Purist Mode for hardcore fans where there is no HUD, no Killer Instinct, it's just you and your skill

@Rqoiz nope it wasn't a bad game, it offered something different, it offered Fast Paced Stealth (unlike older Slow Paced Stealth), it wasn't about killing anyone, it was about doing so without being noticed, by remaining hidden and doing so then you are playing SCC right, D-Ops also offered something very special appreciated by by everyone

There was a some feature missing yes, like hiding the bodies which should have been there, but the development cycle wasn't good, so it was cut

@Rqoiz but in SC6 you will find hiding bodies back, on the other hand SCC offered many features that most games are trying to take, M&E, CQC, C2C, SCC got the best cover to cover movement, and that is a fact, it got a variety of CQC also which is a great thing

BTW in SCC by hard work you can avoid killing 70% of the enemies, but that needs alot of work, once Ubi's forums are up, head on to SCC Forum, check for The Stealth Walkthrough thread, you will find people finishing the level stealthy

Also it is really tiring when Hitman fans act like that, when the devs already promised a Purist Mode which will be for hardcore fans, I am an old fan for stealth, since the days of Tenchu 2 when there was fog blocking your view, and you had to be really sneaky or else you will get in combat which is difficult, but I like what I am seeing from Hitman Absolution so far

what made hitman was how he blended in with the public and walked right passed his enemies while they're looking at him and they wouldn't know it's him. he fooled people and killed his target without even being in the same room as them. i don't see that in this game as much. i hope it's not gonna end up like splinter cell conviction

I completely agree. I think it's usually better to stick with one style as the way to play and have it be more polished. A lot of games I've seen that give you a choice in styles usually end up with gameplay that is sloppier then it should have been.

@timonosinga No, but it has a bit of rpg, stealth (the important element of all Hitman games), and, some of open world elements, like the early Splinter Cell games. I highly recommend you getting the Hitman Collection for the PC ($10 bucks), If you don't want to get the pack, then just get Hitman: Blood Money, you will love the game. It's easy to get into it, once you gotten the basics on how to do stealth kills, use disguises, etc.
