Gomes is a good keeper, but you're overating him by far. Buffon is a much better keeper in my eyes.

Peter Schmeichel is the best goalkeeper in the way he comands the backline and ruins attacks but not the greatest of all time. Lev Yashin is better not by much but he is. Oliver Kahn in his hay-day comes to a close third, then Gordon Banks (who also made the best save of all time 1970 against Brazil) and in the modern game it is probably Buffon at the mo, Chech will be better when he has more experiance (I say that as a West Ham fan too), Van Der Sar is third or maybe second atm

mate ur dreaming and who the hell is lev yashin, schmeichel was a true god of the goal mouth, his distribution and his saves masterful, as far as goalkeepers go wel oliver kahn david seamen in his day but closer to schmiechel is neville southall in my opinion but lev yashin who the hell is that!!!????

Well Lev Yashin was a great, The Black Spider he was known as, he was so good that the award for the best keeper at the world cup was named after him (The Yashin Award if you such a idiot that you don't evan know who he is) and Bert Trautmen is better than Seaman and he didnt evan get to play international

well put it this way he left an mark on the game clearly a great keeper lev yashin but im standing by my first statment schmeichel was brilliant, lev yashin has a legacy cos an award got named after him and he earned that but proof is there his awareness was almost going forward in time it was that good but yeah my apologies for that comment but i no alot more than u think mate.

Well put it in this way...the keepers when Yashin was playing were "glued" to te goal line...besides...he sometimes run from post to post to save a ball...

Schmeichel is the best 1on1 i agreee but Cech is one of the best goalies now, he needs more experiece but for a early 20 y/o hes a damn good goalie

okay now, i dont like man utd OR chelsea... but at least man UTD dont have to BUY success every season, they earn it... and whoever said that cech is better than schmiechel is a moron, either that or blind, the great dane is twice the keeper, and im a liverpool fan!... chelsea fans, go home, you were outclassed by a better team this year, and this is from and LFC fan, well done UTD.

Schmeichel is a million miles better than cech
Reasons
1. Schmeichel is more agile pluss bigger
2. Schmeichel as basically won everything you can in the game including a european championship with denmark
3. he has amazing throws wich cud set up goals see vid lol
4. cech has got a lot to do in the game befor anyone can say he is any wer near as good as schmeichel
