@stamatis69 its foundation consists of dampeners which allow the house to move with the quake, but obstruct the shear force from moving up to the house to a large extent. This way the building maintains minimal deformations and structural damage. The good is that this way you can save money you'd spend on concrete and steel. The bad is that the dampeners are expensive to buy (and replace if one is broken during an earthquake).
