Extraordinary! That's an ancient song of Abruzzo, a region of middle Italy, and never I've think to found here a version like this: modern and touching. Marè maje (not maremma) it's "my husband" because the song is a lamentation of a widow. Thank you!
I have searched about it and I found the version you refer to. In the one I have it is clearly a lamentation but it doesn't include the word "husband" in the translation. I am not Italian so I cannot compare the two versions. If you can tell us the lyrics and what do you think they mean I would be glad. Thank you for the comment.

The refrain says "mare maje, mare maje, scur'a mmaje scur' a mmaje, mo' m'accid', mo' m'accid' n'goll' a te" which means "bitter me, sad me, now I'm going to kill my self upon you(r body)" Marzio thought "mare maje" was for "amore mio" (i.e. "my love" so "my husband") some think that's the traslation but it is not: "Mare maje scura maje" is "bitter me, dark me"

@MarzioMaria That's interessting. I love this song, but my Italian is not very good to say the least, so I didn't know what it was about - I just knew it was about some kind of sorrow.
@MarzioMaria scusa non vorrei peccare di presunzione, anche perchè le parole del testo di questa antica canzone sono in disuso anche in Abruzzo, dove io abito, ma il significato delle parole "mara maje" che mi è stato tradotto è proprio "amara me", mentre "povera me" o "me disperata" (o "me tapina" se preferisci) è la traduzione più adatta a "scura maje". Adesso, a parte le differenze linguistiche il significato rimane quello, volevo segnalare che la traduzione "mio marito" era inappropriata.
