Most persecution of Jews stems from the Catholic interpretation of the Bible, in that Jews are supposedly responsible for the death of Jesus. Thanks. I don't want to go into any great religious argument, but... Jesus Christ was killed by the Jewish Sannnhedrin. Rome (Pontius Pilate) merely meted out Roman Law for a far away province. It was "the People" (i.e., the local Jews) who insisted, "Crucify Him!", "Crucify Him!". That's why Pilate wisely washed his hands. And the Jews added, "Let his blood fall on us and our descedents"... A long, complex problem, right?
