I Agree with the message of this piece and why you did but the problem is if the main stream media is the dominant force for establishing hegemony of the ruling class and the ideas of big business and if web cast are the counter to it for "counter revolution" if you will then web cast would deliver the ideas of unrepresented groups of society proletariat Lumpenproletariat and poor peasants as a collective force as the main stream media shows the hegemony of the upper class as a collective.

The television and film industries you say are creating a hegemonic environment are more likely to support weblogs and web initiatives than they are to resist it. You need to look closer at the history of television and it's relationship with other new media through the century. Great work, however.
