  • Sounds too dirty sometimes, also the opening chords are a bit out of time.

  • Marry Me

  • iam your 500th subscriber XD

  • Thats awsome dude. I wish i had a kaoss!!

Lol. I have that same exact strap. Awsome shirt btw.

  • Can somebody tell me how old is this dude, 'cuz it looks like he is very young and is a freking monster with the guitar!

  • @dinciarte This was a year ago? I just turned 15 then

  • Awesome cover, really, but i think that you need more low sound, more fuzzy if you know what i mean. The rest's just perfect, keep it up man!

Btw, did you put that Kaoss pad into your guitar by yourself or what?

  • @philam64 i discovered how to do the wierd riff!! do you refer to the one he does at glastonbury 2010?

  • Bloody hell that's fucking great! =D

  • How much did it cost you in total to put that Kaoss in the guitar? and was it easy to install? are you a pro at doing manual work like that? i really want to put a kaoss in a telecaster i'm gonna buy soon

  • Finally someone plays the who knows who riff

Do you know how to play that weird riff Matt plays before who knows who he uses it as the outro for map of the Problematique instead of the regular outro

  • @globe626 No i've searched forever to figure it out but still can't lol

  • @globe626 maggie's farm riff. that could be it.

  • @bmart999 No, he does it at Casino De Paris after MOTP, after New Born on the HAARP video, and at the end of MOTP in Glastonbury. It's a very electronic, almost random riff.

  • @philam64 oh that one lol no clue.

  • @philam64 I think its just matt messing around, if anything it could be a solo from ratm?

  • @philam64 Ah, I'm pretty sure he's just screwing around on the kaoss pad!

  • can u tell me easily how you get the effect :D

  • @GDjesusOfsuburbia You need cubase, have your computer hooked up to your DigiTech Whammy via MIDI to USB cable, and then load the file I have up for download.

  • what is MIDI? is it some machine or some cable too?

  • @philam64 Could DigiTech RP-255 be used instead of Whammy?

  • @philam64 so if you have the midi and a whammy and the cubase file, does the signal run through the amp for live sound? do you need a midi at all to get this sound?

  • @philam64 when you have the whammy and the cubase does the sound just come out of the amp or does it go through the computer? Also does it matter which cubase you get?

  • this has to be the most accurate cover of this song i've heard :)

  • great video+ sick guitar!!!!!

  • wow you should be rich!fantastic cover btw :)

  • Hey man, great cover you got here.

Mind taking a look at mine?

You can view it on my channel. Excuse the crappy camera quality though :)

Also I hope you don't mind, but when I saw you had the tabs I put a link to your video in my description. I can take it off if you like.

  • thats an epiphone les paul special II right?

  • @WannAbsolution nope, it's a Dean Evo

  • Sry but the Who Knows Who riff doesn't work so well because the studio version is in Drop-D!

  • @Jaggijughurtti Hm, i was unaware of that! However live Matt plays it right after MOTP. It most likely doesn't work because i had no backing track playing and I got really off beat.

  • @philam64 Yeah live Matt plays it with the E-String tuned to C

  • @Jaggijughurtti That's what i did

  • hey man what version of cubase you using?

  • @BWKBB 5

  • Dude ! Great sound, do you think that it is possible to do this cover with Line 6 POD X3 effect?

  • @Octavarium666xyz I'm pretty sure because the amp I'm using is a Line 6 Spider III, and from what I've heard the POD is much more advanced than the spider

  • @philam64 Okay, thx ;)

  • i understand that you have the whammy pedal but can you explain what i need to make this effect??

  • @BWKBB A computer running Cubase which has the MIDI file loaded, a USB to MIDI cable connected to your whammy, and of course your guitar and whammy

  • wooooow awesome cover!!!

plz I need help installing my Kaoss Pad on my guitar if you can help I thank you in advance

  • @Darkxr7500 hm google Phil's Kaoss Mod, that's what I did for the most part. I made an independent LED circuit that turns on when i flick a switch

  • @philam64 ohh thanks dude I subscribe

another question the effect of the song? is generated by the Kaoss Pad or use a special pedal

    thanks for everything ;D

  • @Darkxr7500 the pitch effect is by whammy, the tone is by Line 6

  • instead of using the bad-monkey could you use fuzz factory?

  • @BWKBB the fuzz factory is a bit too heavy for this tonal balance. This song would sound better totally clean than totally fuzz in my opinion

  • @philam64 cheers man for the reply ,,, so are you using the digitech whammy? on what setting?

  • How can I connect my whammy to my computer? My whammy does not have the USB connection. Thanks.

  • @hernandeznathan50 you need a USB to MIDI cable

  • where did you find who knows who tab?

  • @TheScreamjoker I learned it by ear

  • @philam64 i meant when was the point u actually thought that u have learnt guitar i know its an on going process and u can never learn to much about guitar but still how much months did it take to learn the guitar?

  • why do u use the whammy pedal, has that got the effect ??

  • @slawter23 the whammy pedal is capable of pitch shifting. We can manipulate that pitch shifting with MIDI. Basically I have a pre-set string of MIDI messages that shifts the pitch to map of the problematique.

  • i bet you get a billion and one comments like this. who fittted your kaoss pad dude?

  • @Daldric I did :)

  • @philam64 sweet. sounds stupid man but coul yu giv me a hand? wat did yu buy to do it? an how hard. what things i need?

  • @philam64 for how long u have been playing guitar and r u self taught?...i'm a beginner and i now i can only play the open chords and its been a month since i started learning...how long did it take u to play all the chords?

  • @hamzabinamin123 I've played for around 3 years self-taught.... but I encourage a teacher since I've had a piano teacher for 11 years now. It took me about a couple days to learn and memorize it, but I have a lot of experience so that's what I credit it too. I'm sure you'll be able to learn it easily.

  • @philam64 i meant how long did it take to learn the guitar?

  • I love this!

Can you create a quick tab?

  • Extraordinary good, strong enought to make my heart beating hardly !!!

  • @777Midnightblue Thanks man

  • nice guitar and grand piano. i'm jealous

  • @Esudao Hahaha thanks! It's actually a baby grand, but it gets the job done quite nicely

  • How do you get that effect? Is it literally just the tremelo effect on the amp?

On myline 6 amp i got a tremelo setting but im not sure? :S

  • @JackJohnson6010 It's a special sequencing file that runs on Cubase LE and controls my Whammy pedal. The only Line 6 effect was distortion.

  • @philam64 Ah right okay thank you

Is there anyway i can cover this song without having to do that? Cuz its so good but idk if normal tremelo would do it?

  • @JackJohnson6010 If you notice there's rhythmic octave switching that a tremolo just won't do.

  • @philam64 Soz to be a pain but can you tell me how to get the effect then? Like any pedals i need or anything :S

  • @JackJohnson6010 Just read the video description

  • what is the screen called and what does it do

  • @kunaikai kaoss pad, used to be a synth capable pad, but not anymore

  • @philam64 so now it's just for looks

  • @kunaikai Pretty much, haha! I have ordered a MIDI X-Y kit though, which will go in my Manson replica

  • @philam64 classy

  • i shouldnt butt in it, but Matt plays all chords......but great job, nontheless!

  • @TheDemarius Perhaps in the album version yes, but if you see him live the opening and the chorus are all picked as I do :)

  • K cool just message me thanx

  • I bought this amp today and I was wondering what setting you use... do u use metal or insane and do you put any reverb or delay, what settings do you use? Thanx

  • @museruls I have a pretty unique setting on the "Green Metal" setting. I'll have to get back to you on that, I'm not home and can't access the amp

  • Ok thanks for everything . U were really helpful. Once again Thanks

  • @museruls No problem. Tell your friends! Lol.

  • Ok last thing do you actually have to drill through your guitar to install it?

  • @museruls You will have to route a cavity for the screen to fit properly. Not just drill. Whether or not it goes all the way through the guitar is up to you.

  • @museruls again, check the site. it has everything in a nice tutorial

  • Im know Im annoying you with all these questions but what type of kaoss pad is it?

  • @museruls No problem at all. Again check out the site, but it is a Kaoss Pad KP2. It has all the synth stuff Matt Bellamy uses. I'm not sure if the KP3 does.

  • Thanks dude you were really helpful I'm gonna buy a new guitar to install it in because I dont want to mess with this cool sienna sunburst strat I got. Do you have any suggestions on a guitar to install one in .

  • @museruls It MUST have a flat top. That being said, I'm pretty sure anything will work as long as there's enough distance between the bridge and the butt of the guitar. Avoid guitars with a Floyd Rose, I doubt there's enough room. Your best options would be telecaster-type bodies and maybe some strat type bodies. I got lucky since my guitar is technially a Les Paul copy with a flat top.

  • I know guitars but I know nothing about kaoss pads I looked them up on ebay. This may sound like I im a dumbass but how do you get one on your guitar? The ones on ebay look nothing like the one on your guitar or is the one on your guitar connected to the kaoss pad but then what is the thing on your guitar called? Also what type of kaoss pad is it? I know I sound like I dont know shit but Im new to kaoss pads and yeah I would like to do something similar and if you could you could explain it.

  • @museruls It's alright man. Everyone's dumb before questions are asked :)

    Google "unmaintained phil kaoss guitar"

    Full tutorial about this

  • Thank you

  • @museruls Do you plan to do something similar?

  • Dude cool cover, your guitar looks legit what type is it? and where did you buy that kaoss pad?

  • @museruls It is a dean evo 1000p. Bought the Kaoss off of ebay. It used to work but due to complications the touch pad is no longer functional. Just an LED under a white plate.

I'm going to have a Manson replica built based on the Red Glitter Manson, with a real MIDI kit, but that's another story :)

Did you see my last version of this cover?

  • @philam64 No i havent and what type of amp do u have because the distortion and everything is perfect. It sounds good. That red glitter one is really cool too

  • @museruls I have the Line 6 Spider III, gives me lots of tonal options but I mostly use one similar to most live performances of Uprising. I blend in the DigiTech Bad Monkey for thicker tones like the chorus of this song.

The Kaoss Pad runs $240-$280 usually on eBay. If you're bidding you'll probably get lower prices, buy it now is usually more expensive.

Settings on the Kaoss are easy, the Line 6 is a bit more complicated, but still pretty straightforward.

  • @philam64 Also how much was that kaoss pad? and is it difficult to set up and get the settings right and everything?
