@TheSonnybit No, minimum system requirements are Pentium 4, WinXP, 1GB RAM, 12GB free hard disk space, DX9.0c video card with 256MB VRAM and a DX9.0c sound card.
something is not right :'( my spec phenom 2 x4 955 at 3.6Ghz with a 4870x2 4Gb ram only gets upto 40fps in crysis.. and falls to 30 ofetn at 1900x1200 2AA -_-
....oh lmao! Sorry!! i thought you meant you had 1.. sometimes people make out they have that in crossfire -_- lmao i was thinking there was something seriosuly wrong with my pc :D Ok im EXTRA JEALOUS now :$
the only good thing about having a 5770 over a 4870 is directx 11.... the 4870 performs a lot better and it has more processors (800 as opposed to 650 i think).
@67CopperHead Anandtech, HardOCP, CPU Magazine, Tom's Hardware, and many others would disagree with you. 5770 is slower than both the 4870 and 4890. The 5770 has the same amount of stream processors(800), but runs on a narrower 128bit memory bus instead of the 4870's 256bit. A simple google search would've put you in the "know." Don't embarrass yourself next time.
i have just brought a gaming comp with good gaming card(ati 4670) and stuff but when i run crysis i can only have 3 things on very high. if i have evrything on v high the fps drops considerately. any help would b much appreciated.( i have 2gb of ram if thts any help) :)
dude who the fuck cares. in reality, for genral purpose computing, and even high power computing, if you're using a consumer motherboard, you are probably not using super crazy apps that use like 20 gigs of ram....
lots of stupid comments below. just so you guys all know, when someone tells you 2.66 ghz is each core working at 2.66 ghz, they don't know what they're talking about.
the i7 has hyperthreading, meaning it's better at multitasking, etc. but not necessarily gaming (to an extent) honestly, any of today's dual-core can preform (fps-wise) about 90 as well has any quad-core. it's really the video card that matters if you're budget oriented.
But i still have some proplems with my Gta Iv with the grapichs, its like there is some limit for my settings, it says that i only have 290 mb, when i have +1280mb
processors DOES affect gaming performance, but if u ha to choose to upgrade a processor or a VGA, it's 99,99%guaranteed that the vga will go better for a game
Great vid! Not sure if anyone else has had this trouble...Crysis suddenly stopped working even after a re-install. Game loads fine, but before it goes into gameplay screen it goes black..and Windows says there is a fatal error :( Anyone had this problem? Cheers!
i agree max 2 cpu and its for server mother board and if he have core i7 its means he have ddr3 memory and wtf he finded 4gb ddr3. I got only 2gbX4 ddr3 with 1333 mhz
If you're talking about the video, I'm pretty sure X58 boards can use SLI and XFire. The only reason why the P40 series couldnt was due to bios restrictions.
n00b... Go get a life...rethard.....This is soo fake I can't beleave it:))....you don't even know how to lie..because your so called "PC" is so wrong:))
too bad this video is bullshit, even 4870 X2s in Crossfire or GTX 295 Quad SLI can't produce playable framerates at 2560x1600 with 16xAA.
Anything past 4GB of ram is pretty much going to waste unless you run professional applications such as photoshop and similar programs. (also using them to their maximum potential)
Your absolutely right about the above 4 gig comment. I just built a new AMD Dragon Platform system (check my vids) I have 8 gig of ram. I use MAYA and Photoshop-CorelX, while encoding video. If you don't do all that at once or really push your system as a work horse like I do, then you will never need more than 4-6 (EVER). People who buy 12-16 are just pissing money away. I have an ATI 4890 and can't even dent the card. If I start using 3 monitors again, (maybe) I'll crossfire it, but not yet.
I alredy got (2x2048)4GB ddr2 ocz sli ready edition dual channel 800mhz and want to put (2x1024) 2GB ddr2 dual channel corsair memory 800mhz in order to have 6GB ram system
is there any problem with dual chanbels or something like that?
my motherboard XFX nForce 680i Sli LT ATX supports up to 8 gb ddr2 in a 64bit system
aaaand you said there was no minimum ram requirement for vista. you literally cant even install vista without at least 512mb of ram, unless the copy of vista is modified to allow installation with less. thats "and". lol
first of all, the amount of RAM on a core i7 mobo has to be a multiple of three, because it uses triple channel memory. second, the most that any core i7 supports is 24 gigs, which is pointless when you consider the largest DDR3 stick is only 2 gigs, meaning a maximum of 12 gigs can be installed on every core i7 mobo so far (except for one mobo that only uses 3 slots instead of 6)
oh, and as a comment to the person who made this video, I have a couple of points to make
1. the maximus extreme hasn't had a revision for core i7 yet. asus only makes the P6T series and the rampage extreme
2. how did you get 16 gigs on a mobo as well as a core i7? core i7 uses triple channel, and the most slots there are on a core i7 mobo is six. this means a maximum of 12 gigs of memory, and the amount has to be a multiple of three
Hmm, perhaps he meant to write 6 haha, then again.... 1 is very far away from 6 on a keyboard.
Random question, is this game any good to play? I know it looks pretty, but is it actually GOOD? I really hope it is, as when I get my new comp I'm gonna be looking for a new game to make the computer cry. I'd be looking to get an I7 2.93ghz, ATI 4870 X2 2048 , 6gb ram.
Also, i do a lot of 3d rendering in 3dmax , would the above machine get TOO hot if im using it at 100% cpu (which rendering does) for lengthy periods of time if i were to overclock it to 3.66ghz,would that be dangerous? should i just leave it on the default clock speed or would it be fairly easy to compensate with heatsinks/fans etc?
I'm thinking of getting an Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler with Arctic Silver 5 Heatsink compound.... any help would be appreciated as im lost
Im sure it wouldnt need to be that much, I think that sellers are just selling them that high to make a better profit, as its better than getting 2 dual sets or normal sets.
well dual channel is out and triple channel is in on DDR3.
When having a fast memory as 1600 on 7-7-7-24 timing, u wont need more than 3GB!
And for some reason the Intel i7 gives the full potencial for the DDR3 ram to work faster than ever. Now i realised how useless DDR3 with Core 2 Duo/Quad is.
Someone please help. I have £5000 to spend on PC parts but dont know much about technical stuff. What stuff should i buy? Thanks! Oh and yes i have to much money i know so dont bother saying that.
4870x2 is the fastest single card on the market but games aernt optimised for crossfirex resulting in even low fps in crossfirex then it is stading alone . games aernt optimised for ati anyway , kinda suck . but they're still pretty good .
After two years these videos look incredibly stupid.

and why only four gigs? I'd go with 8 gigs of corsair dominator on a 64-bit OS

first of all, the amount of RAM on a core i7 mobo has to be a multiple of three, because it uses triple channel memory. second, the most that any core i7 supports is 24 gigs, which is pointless when you consider the largest DDR3 stick is only 2 gigs, meaning a maximum of 12 gigs can be installed on every core i7 mobo so far (except for one mobo that only uses 3 slots instead of 6)

That was interesting to read dude... im thinking of getting an I7, so this was useful to see it spelled out so clear, thanks.

oh, and as a comment to the person who made this video, I have a couple of points to make
1. the maximus extreme hasn't had a revision for core i7 yet. asus only makes the P6T series and the rampage extreme
2. how did you get 16 gigs on a mobo as well as a core i7? core i7 uses triple channel, and the most slots there are on a core i7 mobo is six. this means a maximum of 12 gigs of memory, and the amount has to be a multiple of three

I'm thinking of getting an Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler with Arctic Silver 5 Heatsink compound.... any help would be appreciated as im lost

i7 cores and the motherboards are rather cheap, but the fucking tripel channel memory is fucking same price as the motherboard or cpu.
Younowkoed 3 years ago
nah its not so bad actually, and u wont need more than 3GB, but yeah 6GB is a price-killah
tezzofino 3 years ago
Im sure it wouldnt need to be that much, I think that sellers are just selling them that high to make a better profit, as its better than getting 2 dual sets or normal sets.
Younowkoed 3 years ago
well dual channel is out and triple channel is in on DDR3.
When having a fast memory as 1600 on 7-7-7-24 timing, u wont need more than 3GB!
And for some reason the Intel i7 gives the full potencial for the DDR3 ram to work faster than ever. Now i realised how useless DDR3 with Core 2 Duo/Quad is.
i7 is the fututre.
tezzofino 3 years ago
yea, I was thinking the same, most people dont actually know how ram actually works and what it does

4870x2 is the fastest single card on the market but games aernt optimised for crossfirex resulting in even low fps in crossfirex then it is stading alone . games aernt optimised for ati anyway , kinda suck . but they're still pretty good .
