That part at 2:19 where the masked dancer is revealed, and shakes her hips a few times to the pizzicato strings is incredible. Such subtlety of music and movement that really changes the overall character of the entire piece. I could probably watch those few seconds a thousand times, but not much more...

This recording is my childhood, basically. My dad videoed it off the television when I was 3 years old, and I watched it every day. Subsequently, I wanted to be a ballet dancer or a penguin when I grew up.... (right now there's more chance of the latter!)

Thank you so much for posting this, I was at the final dress rehearsal at Covent Garden for this ballet in '88, it was beautiful. I've not seen it since, what a treat.
