@flurbyrock Thats great, thanks a mill. I've been living abroad for five years and have watched it every December without fail. If you could fix it, it would be massively appreciated :)
@winklesl I've uploaded the file again, a full version can be found in my videos list, for some reason it won't let me post a link here. Hopefully you and many others will enjoy this masterpiece this Christmas and for many more to come. Happy Christmas!

Oh, ffs, I admit I am an ignorant yank, but still I am as sentimental as the next (cry every time at the end of "It's a Wonderful Life"), and I drink Barry's religiously, but this ad is as shamelessly sappy as it gets. But maybe I am missing it's place in Irish cultural history...is it a long-running ad that you all remember from your youth? In that case I understand; I still get a little misty remembering a certain Coke ad from the 70's...
This ad will become as much part of Christmas as White Christmas,or Give Peace a Chance. It paints the perfect picture of the Christmas Magic. Anyone who can remember that feeling when you hope against hope to get the one thing you've been dreaming of,the thing that you're convinced you wouldn't be able to get,and suddenly it's there!!! This ad puts that feeling back in side you.People knew not to hope for or expect too much!! Thanks for posting. It is more than an advertisement.
I'm in Brisbane, its 36 degrees. We're getting the turkey, ham, and sprouts, we'll have plum pudding and trifle, but its all in vain. We can't get the Irish Christmas feeling.....until now! Thanks for posting this video, it brings us home for Christmas.
It's ads like these that made me choose advertising as a career path. Did anyone hear the Ray D'Arcy show last wk when they emulated this ad based on the Christmas memories of a listener who's father had passed away? It was very touching.I hope Peter Caffrey's family find solace in the fact that he lives on through his voiceovers on amazing ads like this.
A fitting legacy to a fine actor, a gorgeous man and the best of company. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis. Special kudos too to Catherine Donnelly who wrote and produced the ad as well as making a cameo as the less than gruntled wife.
I'm glad so many people are enjoying this in the run up to Christmas... it almost reduced me to tears at my desk in Melbourne three years ago when I heard it on Today FM from home. I posted it cos last year I went looking and couldn't find it easily. It's a masterpiece... really, really special.
This ad still makes me cry - reminds me so much of Christmasses past in Cork. Join us in the Barry's Tea page on Facebook. We can have a big Cork Christmas hug! :)
Goosebumps every time I hear this. This ad is the magic of Christmas encapsulated in the most wonderful speaking voice and magical sound fx. What a wonderful gift Peter gave us in this voiceover, I'm sorry to hear he's no longer with us. God Rest you sir.
Thanks for the kind words about my brother, Peter. It was a beautifully written and produced commercial, and has become an integral part of Christmas for many people. As my skin and blister said in an earlier post, it's lovely to be ble to hear his voice again.
It's really nice to read the nice comments about the Barry's Teas Christmas ad. The ad was made by my brother, Peter Caffrey, who sadly dies on New Years Day this year (2008). I personally think it's a lovely, heartwarming ad and it's great to hear Pete's lovely voice again!
Whats going on? Why only 19sec?!!! This is my FAVOURITE Christmas ad ever. Love it. Anyone know where we can find the full clip?
