@weby113 Did you try watching the episodes? (If you said yes, then it's because the majority of the people like to watch it) If you said no, then try watching them. People may or may not like to watch a mystery/bloody anime once in a while, while some people can only withstand the usual amount of blood in an anime (this one isn't any normal anime, as you may have figured). I like it due to the mystery of figuring out who and why (Umineko), or Why and how (Higurashi).

@NathanRomml wait, are you saying you didn't watch the episodes, or are you just correcting? Oh and there is some why in Umineko, but the big why in higurashi was already solved after a few episodes of kai, so it really wasn't why from then on, it's who and how, plus higurashi doesn't need the why (again) until the middle of kai, where as Umineko needs that why for a lot at the beginning episodes, then slowly needing less and less along the line.

AAAH! I hate those people who try to compare Higurashi and Elfen Lied! Higurashi is an awesome anime even if it seems really bloody and senseless... but everything makes sense if you watch the first and second Season. You will understand everything... You have to think while watching Higurashi and that's awesome in my eyes. Elfen Lied and Higurashi are different and you can't compare them, so just STOP it.

@KiboChan1 People don't realise it's all about friendship and whatnot. It's kind of funny, Ryukishi07's works, although ridiculously gruesome and violent, they contain a really innocent aesop. Higurashi requires friendship to overcome the troubles, Umineko requires and love, compassion and understanding to rationalise and understand everything, Higanbanai is a world without either creating a truly dark world.

....You didn't watch the second season, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai, did you.

The insanity of everyone, and the murders themselves, is explained very clearly in it.

(SPOILERSPOILER: The cause of everything is something called Hinamizawa Syndrome. Once you watched the part explaining that, then you will understand. That and in the final arc of season 1, Keichii gets a flashback to the first 4 episodes, and remembers that Mion's "needle" was really just a marker.))

@InsanityandSTEAK It's Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (obviously XD) Rei. It's the shortest one, closing whole series. Contains only 5 episodes, 30 minutes each.
