LOVE this movie so much! Grew up watching these kinds of movies. Now a days the movies have no substance or valid story line. They would never make a movie like this where they mention heaven because they worry they will upset viewers who don't believe in such a place.

They should get rid of Hannah Montana and High School musical etc and bring back the classics! Anyone know if this was ever put on VHS or DVD?

Don't pity your children. Share the brilliance with them. Expose them to quality programming, what Disney used to be. Tell them about all of your great memories. Not just Disney, but every other movie or show you loved back in the day. Watch it with them. Listen to old music with them. Drown them in nostalgia. I'm 20 now and I have an 8 year old sister. She loves the crap Disney dishes out now. But thanks to me, and Youtube, she has a lot of respect and interest for the past.

I love this movie, but there's something that has always bothered me. If Susie Q died in 1955 when she was maybe 16, then she was born in approximately 1939. Which means that her parents would have to be really old, but the actors playing them look to be in like only in their sixties. Maybe I'm just picky though.

Regular disney used to be for teens, disney for young kids was on in the mornings. kids through their elementary days would have shows on dis in the late mornings/ early afternoons. That's why there's a little more maturity in this than the stupid high school musical crap they have on tv now.
