@charrojalisiense100 Because a Disco 1 has no TC (traction control) so as soon as 1 wheel is in the air the "open" diffs send all the power to the wheel with least resistance and you will progress no more.
I have a disco 1 200tdi and it's al most bullet proof but my dad has a d2 only with TC no CDL and it's just as good as mine so if u have them both together the d2 Is pretty unstoppable !!!! Nice video
the articulation in the vid was respectable but the ace can never fully disengage the anti roll bars if you disconnected the anti roll bars completely the articulation would be amazing.
@godzillaisnuclea123 the articulation or axle travel is limited by the shock length, unless you have really extended shocks the roll bars have no real influence on it.
I agree take your disco 1 to the same place...I bet it'll get tricky for you on that cross axel. I own a disco 2 and 1 so I think I can vouch that the 2 is a much more capable vehicle even though their both great. A touch of I wish I owned a disco 2 from you there I think fella. One day maybee one day.....you might be lucky enough to own one.
More "reliable" , mmm maybe, just less "systems" on the car........better articulation, not so my friend, a D2 with ACE will flex more than a D1 all day long due to the suspension design.
@Discovery2TD5 well since i work at a landrover garage i see alot more seriously faulty d2's than 1's the td5 has injector problems and sometimes diesel can make it past them and get into the oil and vice verss,i personally think the td5 is shite, and they have less low down torque.any way im guessing your disco does not have ace as the flex in the vid wasn't all that great.Nice vid by the way.
@godzillaisnuclea123 I agree that the D2 has its "common" issues, but there again so do all cars including the other landy's. Td5 is a super powerplant "imo". Both the D2's in this vid have ACE, and Im not really sure how much flex you expect on standard suspension, but if you want to really compare, take your D1 to the same spot and see how you get on ;o)
yh i dont see why not, not as if the diesel is underpowered seeing as it can tow more than the v8 petrol even though its a 2.5! v8 sounds better and is more refined i think though, but diesel is more economical hence i ahve a diesel
the dealer told us it came from the air suspension... which sounds really funny... we had lots of trouble with the air suspension... we have now coils. but how do you let the ETC and CDL work together? when you lock the CDL it will shut the ETC off?
Hey there. Is the cdl better than etc on the disco 2? or can you lock the cdl and use etc on the same time? my dads disco 2 also has the three amigos lights on... Have been to a dealer. All the errors were removed but the lights came back on. What can we do? thanx guys...
The ETC on the Disco 2 is good, infact very good, but it will never replace a "physical lock" that the CDL provides, and yes you can use them together......I do all the time. The fact is the more "physical locks" you add, the more redundant the ETC becomes.
Having the CDL and ETC is as close as you'll get to actually having lockers in the diffs. Adding a CDL to a Disco 2 is the best "offroad" mod you could possibly add. As far as the 3 amigos, well you need to find out what the fault was ?
I have just learnt that may just be a dirty or blocked sensor on one of the wheels. maybe worth whipping wheels off and having a look, get an air blower or maybe gerni?
As a GLASS rep, where's this lane? i'm thinking wales?

@Discovery2TD5 the anti roll bars on disco 2's are so thick they do limit it but ultimately the shocks would.

its probably partly due to dust on the abs sensors...get akebono brakepads...that will help...or disable the abs all together

Its a Saftey Devices Highlander roof rack, but unfortunately they are not produced no more, so you'll have to keep an eye out for a "used" one
