  • A BOMB

  • @DKILLER999 Oh my gaahwd JC, a bomb.

    A BOMB

    A Bomb's a

    BOMB.

  • @greytale BMOB A

  • Deus Ex took place during 2052, not 2055...

  • What's the music used in this?

  • Is this a real cartoon?

  • JC arrives by boat

  • The rebreathers! They do nothing!

  • I guess you went for the lethal approach instead.

  • I love that the director added character to the less important enemies, just like the game.

  • damn, i can never save the damn hostages! the same is with the gun fight between unatco and nsf in hell's kitchen, nsf always manages to take at least one UNATCO soldier down and later in the game other troopers point that out... well, at least i manage to save paul most of the times i play...

  • They didn't ask for this.

  • That explains where the light, comes from, when turning on the flashlight ;) nice work, very catchy.

  • Neo (The Matrix) vs JC .. would be an awesome fight. (JC would win though, with his epic oneliners)

  • @Cane666Taros

I'd like to see a match between him and Jensen now.

  • @shuriken05 since JC is more advanced tech, he would win anyway :P

  • @Cane666Taros

True, but advanced isn't equals better. (i.e. Terminator series?)

  • @shuriken05 JC's name pwns anyway. Also, he is the master of oneliners, while I barely hear Adam say any (good one). And you should never compare Terminator with it, it sucks arse!

  • @Cane666Taros A BOMB!

  • @Cane666Taros He never asked for this.

  • Very cool!

  • best

  • nicely done

  • congratulations, thats a very good work (even if ive seen better)

  • I like how the demo charge is from Mako Ballistics, the same company that makes the firearms in Invisible War. This is a great little video, well-scripted and well-produced - Great going, folks! :D

  • Great job! I really liked the cell-shaded style.

  • awesommmmmmmmmmme! wish he didn't use a knife but a baton, though.

  • @mysteriousDSF Really good point, heheh! I guess *THIS* iteration of J.C. was a little bit more hardcore. I suppose Leo Tierney wanted it that way (the designer / creator of this animation).

  • i didnt eaven toutch those nsf guys in the subway!

  • Thumbs up if you are still a loyal Deus Ex fan and waiting 11 years for Deus Ex Human Revolution to come out! :]

  • God damn, this feels just like something right out of Liquid TV, this is so nostalgic for so many reasons! Unfortunately, the only thing that calls me back to reality is the voice acting...I'm really sorry, but it's so bad....

  • Very well done!

  • His vision really is augmented.

  • That was good, I applaud your efforts

  • A BONG!

  • lol i like the vid! the old guy at the end pisses me off, cuz i think hes like " Damn u auggy agents! now i have to clean that up aswell? freaking UNATCO!" and the leader should have been kill or subdued on the camera. either way, this is a good video.

  • Awesome

  • flashlight eyes hahahaha it's cool tho

  • Very nice. A nice interpretation of the game.

  • good job

  • Very cool, u shld submit it as a entry for a short movie competition or something....

  • his vision is augmented

  • @maarten390 that's what he said :D he is learning as he goes

  • @maarten390 But the mission will require him to do more than frighten the NSF with his baggy coat....

  • A bomb!

  • @TheMrVirtual Oh my gawd, J.C. ... :)

  • @best360gamer Actually, they are pretty ruthless. They kill a lot of police officers and if you're not careful they can end up killing every hostage they take. They might not be as bad as the alternative, but they're still not all sunshine and puppies.

  • 2:36 zipper accident :D

  • Very nice work! I like the attention to details, like the large crate outside the subway entrance (just like in the Deus Ex map) and the look of the assault rifles.

  • really good for being fan-made

  • Obvious Matrix reference is obvious

    The ending that is.

  • @orthzar First you should play DX, then comment.

  • This is so awesome , please ask him to make a full movie of deus ex

  • nice

  • This is absolutely awesome!!

  • Heh, share's some similarities to Mirror's Edges cutscene-look! Cyberpunk ftw!

  • epic music

  • nice light augmentation :D

  • My vision is augmented

  • nice!

  • this is great

  • its cool!

  • Actually, I'm kinda glad Deus Ex was never made into a movie. Chances are, it would have been shit, and I prefer the game as having more of a cult status. Some of the best in literature, film, music and art are unknown to the majority. Deus Ex forever *salutes*.

  • Ahahaha, I always wondered what JC's light augmentation looked like from the outside.

    Ridiculous, as it happens. :)

This is so cool, though. Could you make an animation of the whole game? :D

  • interesting and verry funny i like it :D make more plz

  • What a shame.

  • @EffYewTube... A BOMB. :)

  • now that is so cool i love it. if there is eny more like this pleas send me some

  • OH! I get it. nevermind.

  • awsome, the end didn't make a lot of sense though, i thought the bald guy got away. whatever.

  • Pretty good!

  • Good stuff :)

  • sweet!

  • Very cool. Sucks for the bald guy at the end. What a rotten way to die.

  • @ancalites see what you did there :P

  • What a shame.

    :D

  • @ancalites Yeah, what a shame.

  • Awesome work ;)! Respect :)

  • Great animation, and great choice of game. Deux Ex ftw

  • You win the internet.

    That was amazing. >]

  • @0Angel... thanks, but tell that to Leo Tierney! :) He is the one who made this video... I simply did some voice work. :)

  • "I guess not"

Aha that was a what a shame moment, but great vid.

  • hahahaha @holyafro... good point!! Well... I just read the lines I was supposed to read... but yup, Leo and I didn't think of that! :) Would've been funny...

  • good work! there aren't enough fan made Deus ex things out there. Thanks buddy! :)

  • cool

  • Great work. Could use a little polish, but I'll be damned if that wasn't an awesome fan movie.

  • This Is Awesome Great Work Man!

    Long Live Deus Ex.

  • This is really fantastically well done - my regards to everyone involved, you did an amazing job :)

  • Thank you! Tell Leo Tierney that... :) I believe his youtube ID is just that "LeoTierney"...

  • Great Job,hmm,I suppose there's no chance of you developing a cel shading mod for Deus Ex?

    Worth a shot.

  • There is a note in both the video and sidebar to the right... I didn't make this--it's Leo Tierney's work. :)

He does some pretty great animations, so... you'd have to take it up wit him...

    --Novastar

  • good it was good.

  • very good!

  • Looks amazing.

  • please make more =D

  • Awesome work just like the game, funny how the old dude thought JC took them hostage or something.

  • i think there should be an option too stick with UNATCO in the game.

  • JC has a freedom of choice but even he isn't blind. He doesn't want to be a tool used by beaurocrates to do their evil bidding

  • @Wendel922 There was going to be, but it was removed.

  • @HaloGuru13 Why? :S

  • @Wendel922 why not an option to join the MJ12 !

  • @Wendel922 i wanted to be a tool doing an evil cooperation's bidding as well D:

  • @RedDotRampage You can do that in The Nameless Mod.

  • @Wendel922 Remember when Walton Simons said he would get a memo in a few days? I wonder what that would have been about. And if Paul Denton would have stayed with UNATCO then he wouldnt have tried to convince JC!

  • Awsome. :)

    Very well made. ;)

  • The NSF are the goods in this game

  • How did you make it look lie a cartoon?

  • NSF don't torture ostages :)

  • What a shame.

  • They give guns to anyone who'll fight. Some of those people are idiots.

  • Cool, so it's actually in pre-pre-production? How long ago did you posit a scene?

  • I love how the FX for F12 were done ;)

This was BADASS. Reminded me of A Scanner Darkly. This guy needs to do more.

  • dethmaul... I hope Leo DOES do another Deus Ex style animation!! I have suggested a concept for him... but I have to really follow through and HELP him with it.

Things have been SO busy lately... but... I'm glad you reminded me--thanks!!!

  • Pretty good video. Lil´ off the story, but i dont know who was that las terrorist.... And those other Terrorists were pretty shiny .... But good try about that

  • i blew them all up :D

absouloutly ont caring for the hostages safety ftw!!!!

  • hahahah. I loved saving my games, then trying as many possibilities as I wanted to try. Loved that about the game. :)

  • I dont think JC is that cruel really

  • That all depended on how you played the game. :)

  • Wow, this is great.

I was also taken by how he managed to keep the same atmosphere as in the video game.

    He should do more!

  • Just a note to the last few posters: remember--this isn't MY animation work... it's Leo Tierney's! :)

Check him out at lightsage net, although I don't remember his y-tube account... it might be "leotierney".

    He's bloody awesome. :) --Nova

  • Very very very IMPRESSIVE!

  • JC Denton looks really, really nice in this one.

  • amazing, although IMHO it would benefit from speeding up the movement a little to make it look more natural. amazing colour and attention to detail. I'm assuming the original models weren't used ;-)

  • awesome work!

  • Nice job! That was probably a lot of hard work.

  • Wow, that's some nice piece of animation! Great work, bro!

  • There's a couple stealthy techniques demonstrated here that i wish the actual game had incorporated. Anyway, this is very nicely done and a good homage.

  • The game was made in 2000. Back then everyone was drooling over the fact Half Life's crowbar animations were in 3D. Realistic stealth techniques was science fiction back then.

  • Yup... 2000 it was. Ion Storm was ahead of its time... much like ID Software was when they pioneered Wolf3d and Doom. :)

I actually used to make maps for Doom back in the 90's, lol... and SOMEone out there posted them on youtube... go figure. :)

  • Nice. I like how he did the light aug.

I always thought it was kind of silly in Deus Ex how the NSF gas masks are apparently useless, not filtering out tear gas or pepper spray.

  • Never made sense to me either... just like... the stormtroopers in SW don't seem to benefit from their "armor", lol... one blast = dead, hahahaha

    "What a shame." :)

  • It could be plausible if the stil had to insert the right filter, just like in real gas masks. As gas mask without a filter is just useless ^^

But in that high tech time.

  • or more importantly, when you use pepper spray they rub their eyes even though they are clearly wearing eye protection.

as for the masks i think it is used to hide their face and does not have any breathing apparatus.

  • perfect work

  • i all ways wondered were the light came from

  • amazing, will there be more?

  • Wow. Exactly how I pictured JC would knife a terrorist. Just stick his knife right into the back of their heads. Awesome work. Though I would have preferred more closeups on JC Denton there. Possibly showing more of his gunslinging action

  • Exelent work

  • Gr8 work. Whoever did this animation should continue it.

  • That would be Leo Tierney. :) His 411 is in my description box to the right.

  • the animation seems like something out of Waking Life. This is totally badass. I wanna see this in a real-life cinematic.

  • I think Ed Harris would make a good Sam Carter! Bob Page is tough though......

  • I always thought Malcolm McDowell would make a good Bob Page.

  • Ronny Cox, baby!

    COHAGEN! :P

  • Nice vid.

  • this video is exelent man ,,, Nice Job !!!

  • Awesome and its more or less the plan I always used when playing that level. Go through the vents, gas-bomb them then pick them all off with tranq-darts while they are still choking. The hard part was to avoid the NSF with the flamethrower going crazy and either roasting me or torching off the TNT crates

  • 1:22 i always wondered where JC's flashlight comes from!

it's a cool video, great animation, but it's missing the original music! why?

  • Right, technically J.C.'s light is an "augmentation", much like his added strength and so forth, heheh.

As for the original music, I'm going to assume that Leo didn't want to run into any copyrighting issues. Although I'm thinking about asking him to try a short "Deus Ex" project I have in mind that is based off of one of the original music pieces...

  • nah the music from Redsun 2020 fits just fine! .. oldies from orginal DX would probadly not rly fit to this awsome animation :)

  • reminds me of skyland

  • Reminds me of the MGS "comic" style.

  • Amazing. If they ever make a Deus Ex movie it should be animated like this.

  • They should rotoscope it, just like A Scanner Darkly

  • EXACTLY! It'd be awesome.

  • Let's see David Morse as Walton Simons. Any suggestions for Bob Page?

  • Ronny Cox, baby! COHAGEN!!!! hehehehhe

  • LeVar Burton as Morgan Everett and Jeri Ryan as Shannon!

  • Ooh, LOZ: WW-style cell-shading!

  • Pretty interesting. I always wondered what an animated DX would be like. The janitor at the end was kinda funny.

  • Man, that's totally awesome!

  • Exelent work Good video , every thing was ok

    Good video man

  • Really nice. What did you use to make it?

  • Mmm... you'd have to ask Leo--I just did some of the vocals... his website is listed to the right, so you might ask him... :)

  • Loved it!

  • Thats hella cool, maybe you could do the whole game, make a complete movie. :)

  • I would actually love to do such a thing... only problem is: putting together a team of people to do it all.

That's unlikely to happen, seeing as it's hard enough for me to put together a BOP III team over here in the SJ/SF CA bay area! :) Who knows, maybe it's the economy, hahahah

  • Im sure there are lots of people that would like a full movie of Deus Ex, maybe people from a few clans could help. Like FGS, EDH, DIOS

  • that is rly good.. and i like the animation style .. reminds me of "Fear Effect"

  • Good work. I love Deus Ex ;)

  • Nice! You guys have potential! Even though somethimes the character movement was a bit too smooth.

  • Impressive! You guys are real profs!

  • pretty cool.

  • nice

  • that was really good i enjoyed it
