I am Indian (from Kerala). I was in Switzerland for many months. I think the point of this film is that how the countries in Europe (Italy, Switzerland, France on one hand and Serbia,Croatia) have completely different way of life. In spite of the distance between them being just 800 kms or so. The people look the same but one is happy with good life style and the other is in War/shock and poverty.
For me the surprise started when I spoke to one of the Croatian refuges (taxi driver) at Switzerland. Its hard to imagine for me because in India even if I go 2000 Kms north its almost the same social economic and political conditions. (But borders with Pakistan are a problem). Thank god Croatian War is over. Pray to end all the Wars in this world. Because that's what make humans 1000 times lower than filthy animals. Animals just fight for food, mate or Territory(again for food, mate) Continu..

Can anyone explain to me why the director must cast a Japanese for the tourist character? I would understand if he is trying to have diversity point in his short but wouldn't any Asian nationality suffice? why must it be a Japanese? going as far as to the Japanese Embassy to look for one.

In Central Bosnia whole families were massacred' in Croat-Muslim fighting. Would you say Germans killed the Jews, or would you say the Nazis killed the jews? That's a big conceptual difference.

Nice film. Two things really bothered me: the stereotypical portrayal of italians and italy, with both music and acting, and the sloppy soundtrack featured in the first part of the war-zone scene.

I am looking for a feature length film I once watched on film4 that is entirely comprised of darkly comic short films... i cant remember that well but one of them is a man practicing for a marching band and another is a fat woman on a bench arguin with her long haired boyfriend who takes the dog away....... anyone know what its called??
The film is amazing, its message is conveyed in a very powerful way.
However, the description is very disappointing. Serbs are not the only ones who killed people. Don't spoil the universal message of the film with a stupid nationalist description. People who kill other people belong to an entirely different category, and shouldn't be categorised by their nationality. There are people who have killed other people in all nations,which doesn't make the nations themselves worse than other nations.

A great film will evoke emotion, whether it is pleasant or uncomfortable. Apparently, this film accomplished that. It would be nice if those with strong words about the conflict could appreciate the film for what it is, a work of art. Well done, I truly enjoyed it.

I was about to post this on my profile as a touching film, but then I read the description "The story tells how SERBS have killed civils, old people and children!". It's OK if you want to shed some light on this subject, but correct me if I'm wrong - Serbs weren't the only ones who committed war crimes. In Central Bosnia whole families were massacred' in Croat-Muslim fighting. Would you say Germans killed the Jews, or would you say the Nazis killed the jews? That's a big conceptual difference.

@shwmol Croat-Muslim fighting? I was Born In Central Bosnia (Gornji Vakuf), A Muslim myself, my whole family fought not to lose their home and lives. Many died, and we were not the oppressors but the oppressed.The Croats invaded our city and fought against us, we had little to no means to fight. I really do not like it, when they go straight out and accuse MUSLIMS of making the war crimes. Before making your final conclusions about the situation, first educate yourself about the subject. The film is amazing, its message is conveyed in a very powerful way.
However, the description is very disappointing. Serbs are not the only ones who killed people. Don't spoil the universal message of the film with a stupid nationalist description. People who kill other people belong to an entirely different category, and shouldn't be categorised by their nationality. There are people who have killed other people in all nations,which doesn't make the nations themselves worse than other nations.

A great film will evoke emotion, whether it is pleasant or uncomfortable. Apparently, this film accomplished that. It would be nice if those with strong words about the conflict could appreciate the film for what it is, a work of art. Well done, I truly enjoyed it.

what a harrowing juxtaposition, the continuous steadicam shot is absolutely remarkable and the way the film ends leaves the viewe
