I'd love to hear this very track being played live by a philharmonic orchestra. The composition's subtle and unassuming nature is a rare and beautiful thing.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as The Elder Scrolls series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I have these woods behind my house that go on for miles. Whenver I bring my ipod with me, I usually listen to the oblivion soundtrack, and most of the time this song. This is probably the best forest adventuring track. You can almost feel the weight of imaginary armour when your walking in the forest

This is one of those songs made for just dreaming of a distant world, something else, something better, somewhere where you live day by day wandering in a huge forest just appreciating nature.
@GrantRMartin i'll trust your judgement, because i never played Mass Effect. An example of music i think makes that epic feel (like, something's going on in the world...and you take part in the grand plan,so to speak). The game would definitely be Neverwinter Nights (the first one).NWN 2 gad "it",but in a different way.I hope this makes sense...?
@Metalaseylypse good point...i agree on what you said.it's tough that most promising games get dumbed down for the profit scale.A fantastic example is Operation Flashpoint 2.It realy sucks...and you can see it was made for console players in mind. It's not that console games are dumb, but a simulation needs a mouse
I immediately liked the songs from this game....but... am i the only one it lacked the EPICISM or the epic feel to it? You know,like... something a bit more pompous or something more like a march kind of thing ? (like in Diablo or Dungeon Siege)
It still is the best done music in all of the RPGs i played though...
@Lywnis What about Mass Effect? I think it comes pretty close to this... but both scores superbly represent the time frame in which you play. Oblivion: the hidden mysteries of the past. Mass Effect: the dark wonders of the future. I'd kinda' like to hear what it would sound like if Jeremy Soule (Oblivion) and Jack Wall (Mass Effect) got together and composed an original score.
@GrantRMartin I completely agree. However, lets take that a step further, what if BioWare and Bethesda got together and made an Elder Scrolls/ Mass Effect crossover game. I think that putting the 2 together could produce something epic.
@Lywnis If you found something cool in Morrowind it was way more epic. Items in that game were extremely hard to find, like magical hammers in 100pt locked chests in underwater, abandoned dungeons far off the coast of the game's map. Items that you would never find unless you invested days worth of exploration.
Oblivion is just a more widely accessible game, and much easier. However, just for the relaxing effect it has x5 makes it more worthwhile.
@Metalaseylypse there was nothing better that finding an underwater cave and having to pop a few water breathing potions to survive the long descent, only to emerge behind a water fall in a beautiful underground grotto. i can only hope the sense of exploration is even stronger in skyrim than it was in oblivion.
@TalonMercenary I don't think they're trying to top their games. I mean sure they are but that isn't the number one priority for Bethesda. They're making it different, more features, and expanding on the cool stuff in Oblivion that everyone loves. Also, Jeremy Soule will be composing the music for Skyrim :)

I think Skyrim's music great, but Oblivion's music is superior to all the Elder Scrolls.
