  • We went on this trip today and got to ride on the train, but we were stuck on it for like an hour bcuz the engine broke down and they had to bring us a new one. Plus, i didnt like all those people yelling at us, and we had a super short lunch time. That was the only bad thing about the field trip.

  • She was running yesterday 8/7/10 hauling people from the parking lot to the station during a day out with Thomas

  • I think I saw this one slightly covered up in the engine house. Cool little locomotive. A rare sight indeed

  • oh shit!! a kahuku saddle tank that thing is olddd!!!!

  • WOW! You really came to RC&BT on a special day. They only very rarely fire this one up.

  • Looks like a Hawaiian plantation locomotive. But even by those standards it's small.

  • roaring camp and big trees is narrow gauge.

  • I know. Many Hawaiian plantation locomotives were NG.

  • Good call, that's exactly what it is. Fun to catch it out steaming though since they usually only run it for special events; it can't handle the grades on the main part of the line.

  • Thank you for posting! At one time Roaring Camp was going to sell this locomotive. I haven't seen it run since the 60's.

  • when did you film this I haven't seen or herd of kahuku (the locomotive in the vid) being out running lately

  • I filmed this back in Aug 2006...this train was running during a Day Out With Thomas
