What happens when one player (A Big Publishing house today, perhaps Amazon tomorrow) calls all the shots? Where will it leave the bookends - i.e the writer and the reader? If all Amazon promotes this year is their 100plus published titles they will be no better than the traditional publishers today and will leave plenty of room the margins for other publishing models to exist. Don't count out the Publisher yet - perhaps change his name to Facilitator in future
Totally agree and love this, Gary. Amazon is publishing my new book "Manifesting Princess Live UP to the Reputation" on 11-11-11 and I'm so happy about my book launch on live stream dot com 11 a.m. & 11 p.m. eastern. I am the middle "woman" here and publishing directly on amazon & kindle! Publisher can kiss it goodbye!! ~April Cline~
Publishers will have to transition their role to talent agent. Most authors still need PR, a trusted publishing brand to be credible and marketing to be noticed. Vanity publishing, although not as big of a deal will still bow to those authors that are getting onto websites that have quality control.
That being said, Gary is right on the money when it comes to the actual distribution/creation of books. Amazon is going to own that space.
Love, Love seeing your mug my friend, but, Please, Please, Please tell them to get rid of the second camera. I don't get why they think that it adds energy to the video. It doesn't! It's just jarring to the senses. In a word, STOP!!!!!!
My dude,
Is it possible that GMAC007 is really NWIndianaDan? :)
Miss you brother!
Yours,

Out of this video I understood that Amazon becomes the middleman. What's the difference? Won't there be a commission to amazon to publish ur book?

Love your videos Gary but this two camera switching back and forth thing is just hokey and unnecessary.
