I am fan of Silva, but Fedor would beat Silva at current weights. Silva is having trouble beating guys in his own weight class at the moment. Fedor has 2 recent losses, one by a triangle from a legit BJJ blackbelt and the loss to another BJJ blackbelt that was 4" taller & 30lbs heavier.IMHO he got caught in a triangle because of ring rust.The king of triangles (NOG) could not submit Fedor in the same fashion in 3 separate fights.Im just not sure if his heart is in it anymore.

Even then, Fedor the Emperor among kings.

Japan and America are completely two different worlds, and American fighters never cared much for Japanese fighters. There is this fighter Called Imanari, SUPER FAMOUS in Japan, and AMAZINGLY good, but you never hear about him here in the states. Many of those Japanese guys Fedor fought were GOOD MMA fighters, back in the day though, more fighters we based on grappling.

@russboone84 Nog , cro cop, were good.Randleman was avrg. coleman was a one trick poney,Hunt was not good in mma k-1 he was good, herring avrg,Shilt avrg.Its not fedors fault the div. was weak but when fedor was king there was only 2 other good fighters the rest were just ok.Anderson silva has fought alot of great guys his wieght class is stacked.

@callofdutymw2geek I don't know i think they're 2 best fighters of the 2000-2010 decade.But to me fedors undefeated run in rings, and pride (7yrs) was more impressive than silva's in ufc and he only went 3-2 in pride and actually got stomped in 1 of them.Yes this decade is different but in terms of all time greats and bein further ahead of competition in their day for me it's fedor and yes his time probably is done.Would have loved to see that fight..

@russboone84 I agree that in that decade fedor was the best but my argument is he was the best because there wasnt a whole lot of good guys then so it was easer then most other wieght classes to reach the top.I think the reason hw div has been weak is cause larg sportsmen do other sports for more money like k-1 boxing football rugby baskettball powerlifting and many other sports where larg men are needed,And there just less larg men as compared to avrg to small men in the world.

@callofdutymw2geek Thats probably true..As well as the fact that mma is evolving as a sport..Same reason why royce gracie used to dominate, the world was caught off guard by brazilian jujitsu, now it is a standard part of mma for the most part..Although fedor had much better opposition than gracie, he's not quite as "first generation" as gracie was..Think that fedor would still do very well at lhw though..

But sadly, the fighters that were great then are too old now.
Fedor, Minotauro, Cro Cop, Wanderlei Silva, Takanori Gomi, Shogun, Rampage, Henderson.
These guys were all in their prime when they were in PRIDE, and they would absolutely destroy the tops of today.
Shogun has gotten worse over the years, and he's still managed to become the UFC LHW champion.

@kazikartinec When Tyson was in his "prime" he was beating up bums. He was a marketing exercise. Who did he actually beat? I know a bunch of guys he lost to, and a number of times he didn't have the heart for it when they got down in the trenches. Fedor never ducked a meaningful contest, never cheated or made excuses like Tyson, and has always walked the straight and narrow path. Lewis, Holyfield and the Klitschko brothers way ahead of Tyson. Even then, Fedor the Emperor among kings.
