There are at least 10 dozens other actresses who could have played the part in The Reader and some would have done it better. Winslet was underwhelming as usual. It's good thing she's able to pull herself up from Weinstein's lap every once in a while. Her ridiculous campaigning for awards is tedious to say the least.

I like Angelina Jole but Kate Winslet i think by far is better because of how much she does in her movies, they just blow me away. BUT Angelina Jole is Amazing too by far!! :)

Angelina was wonderful in Changeling, but Winslet gave the best actress performance of 08. BUT Jolie in A Mighty Heart is better than Winslet in Revolutionary Road.

I had the privilege to sit very close to Kate (as well as her mum and dad and baby Mia) in a restaurant in St Ives cornwall. We were outside on the restaurant balcony on a hot sunny day in 2001 and suddenly the most stunning lady approaches and sits next to me: long straight blonde hair, tall, slim and very elegant and my draw dropped. It was Kate alright. She has a house in St Ives.
