  • I need one for my ps2.

  • why should i buy linux for the ps2?

    what does it bring??

  • 240p we meet again

  • I'm trying to run this linux on my ps2 slim, but I'm not able. I read the instructions, but they are very complicated and I understood little. You can help me install this linux on my ps2? You can do a step by step tutorial on how to run this linux on my ps2 slim?

  • @pedropassamani since you cant install on USB and cant get a HDD you have to install from the network try looking that up

  • why the hell do you have 5 internet modems??? thats wayyy unnecessary unles you have 25 computers that you use frequently and they all share a connection.

  • @FRyriceify

    Setup is:

    * TP-Link ADSL modem

    * TP-Link Wireless Router

    * Linksys NSLU2 NAS with USB External HDD

    * PS2 slim

  • @FRyriceify don't you feel stupid.

  • i love linux

  • name of the song in linux ps2??

  • Another Easy Way is to chage the Partition Size on the USB HDD ( 5GB should enough for Linux) with Partition Magic or so.

    All other steps you can make on the PS2 byself:

    as SU in Xterm:

    cfdisk - create 3 partitions 1x1,5gb for the image(83 Linux), 1x3gb for writable partition(83 Linux) 1x 500MB Swap(82 Linux Swap)

    with mke2fs now you can create 2x EXT3 partitions and with mkswp one swap-partition.

    mkdir /mnt/sda2

    mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2

    cp disc.bin /mnt/sda2

    then follow MegaMans Tuturial

  • I've read up on this, and from what I've found, the main deal with getting kernel loader to work on a slim ps2, is that usb support is unstable on most newer models of the slim. However, a v12 slim is supposedly now capable of loading off the usb. I don't know, I recently got a v12 slim, but haven't gotten around to confirming this.

  • how do i get aragon for ps2 ? reply i will sub

  • ps2's apparently are formatted to run linux, idk why.

  • @LOLZpersonok Its because computer systems being sold in Japan are not taxed like video game systems and Sony got around the extra tax by marketing it as a PC.Thats why we have install other OS on our PS3s now.The PS2 linux kit was for hobbiests really though you won't be happy with the performance of your PS2 with Linux running.This is more of just a novelty just softmod it and you will get the functionality you wont Im sure.

  • Comon dude explain more please :)

    Ive got a slim ps2 and want to get linux working off usb it gets to the point where its loading kernel loader shows that error and wont continue. Another time it went further abd i got to the black screen with writing but it just hanged.

  • yeah I think this idiot is the same of any kind of those who doesnt show anything else than the mp3 player.........

  • Yes, can you make a tutorial or something? I really want to make use of my PS2 slim and I don't have a mod chip nor do I understand your instructions.

  • @GMMegaByte want to do the exact same thing with a fat ps2

  • nice set up, i have a question for you. i see you took out your usb at the installation process, i want to know is it possible to make the partition on a usb? i get to the installation screen but am having trouble making the partition. i only have a usb right now no hdd.. any advice you can give me, i know im a few steps from getin linux on ps2 slim just need a lil help with the partition part...

  • he will never anser to you

  • Is the Linux booting off a HD on the network? Because I didn't see an external HD connected to the PS2. All my fat ps2 are dead and I have a fully working slim, this would be nice if you provided instructions.

  • so how did you make it and how much?
