Perhaps I should have put more thought into the music choice than I did. Once I put the slideshow together, I 'tried on' several songs and this one fit the length and aesthetic, etc. It wasn't chosen for its release year.
Az you did a great job putting this toghether if i wasn't one the old QMS fans who loved the band before Dino took over I wouldn't have noticed or cared so it's me not you & Thanks for the Flashback Trip
it's a Good one. That Avalon Ballroom was an Amazing place.. High Times in the Wild West with The Family Dog.
Great seeing posters from shows I went to during my younger daze when the pre-Dino QMS was a big fave of mine so wonder why you have a song by the 70's Dino band & not the legendary QMS from Haight Street & Parks & Ballrooms of San Francisco in the 60's? Happy Trails
Nicely done! I have a similar collection of handbills. Currently cataloging it and hoping to expand it. Your collection is a bit more complete than mine, but I do have a few of the FD Great Highway series that I don't see here.
I was there! The combination of this music and video makes me ACHE for the past! Oh, for a Time Machine! What an Era that was.....indescribably magical....nothing remotely like it since....(from an eternal flower child)
Great memories, though FRESH AIR is a QUICKSILVER Mk II song from the '70s (featuring Dino Valenti, who was a solo artist in the '60s, on lead vocal).
This is absolutely my favorite 'homemade' vid that I've seen on YT!! It's one thing to vlog....but you really put your artistic eye into this one!! BRAVO :D
I can't pick a fave....I LOVE them all! AND the song really set a fantastic groovy vibe!
You really nailed this vid!!
THANK YOU for sharing your postcards....I've wanted to see all of them since I got a little glimpse a while back :)
That is an amazing collection and one heck of an undertaking to scan it all in. Is this the song that you were talking about in the past that you got permission to use? Anyway, great work. That is one huge project.
I'm glad I have this outlet to share my little treasures with the world. They've been sitting in a dark drawer for YEARS. If not for YT, they'd probably still be there.
Cool! I grew up in SF during the 60s. I used to go to Family Dog Avalon Ballroom and Bill Graham's Fillmore Aud. I was on their mailing lists and received postcards from both. I also recived the full-size posters; they handed them out at the door before and after. I sold some of the posters which became valuable in the 70s (Zig Zag poster!). I don't own one specimen now!
Me too! Several of the '67 handbills from the Avalon I recognize. They were sent to me in the MAIL in the SF suburbs! I had 'em on my wall along with the surf pictures! Oh whaT A mighty time!
ROFL!!!! Oh yeah...good thing you didn't post that on the internet for millions to see our plans for the evening! hahaha I'm just giving you a hard time! Why?, you may ask! Well...just cuz, I will answer...ha! I know...I'm a simple bitch...hahahaha
Wow! That totally rocked, literally! I am so inspired that I am going to start building on my teeny tiny collection! Your editing is amazing & the choice of music...nostalgic & full of sweet memories. Thank you! Namaste`

It's so hard to find cool post cards with actual thought and art put into them. I was born in the wrong era. :)

I was still a toddler when these shows happened, so to some degree, I was born too late, too. Glad you enjoyed them!

What good is art if it can't be seen, right?
Have a great Saturday!

Sorry to you also that I missed the chat!
:-(
I'm glad you enjoyed the slideshow! I had to UL it 3 times for 'high quality' to finally be an option. I didn't think YT would be so tricky!
Happy Saturday!
