Sir, I am from India. After seeing your Videos about "Madurai"(a place in South India), I came to know about people's dressing culture, their looks towards camera and their behaviors and all those. Have you visited Chennai or Kanchipuram, these are nice places around Madurai.
Thanks for reminding our gone days. Long Live Sir.! Wish to be in touch with you in Facebook..!
You are incredibly charming! And talented. LOVE your videos! Thank you a million times over for putting these up! (Ever film old New Orleans, Louisiana)? Or Boston, Massachusetts? Looking through your archives but they are extensive :)
Sir, to see what Indian cities including my own, looked like when my grandfather was probably a young man or a teenager growing up, in film, for real is simply an amazing feeling. these videos are priceless treasures. My deepest thanks and great respect to you, Sir. Thank You.
(the portrayal of old Indian cities on cinema is very different - not accurate or no where close to reality by any means)
I am amazed by the quality of your archives. THANKYOU so very much for the posting on youtube. I have been enjoying every inch of your clips. The problem is I want to see more if you don't mind. Watching from Perth, West Aust., they certainly bring back lots of fond memories from childhood living in Wanchai HK at the time.
@tonykklam1 . Thanks. Well I have more than a hundred clips on old Hong Kong on YouTube and 580 in total. So you can spend some further hours watching. And I plan to upload more as soon as I get hold of some interesting footage. In fact it is a costly business this hobby of mine: buying films, having them shipping to me, professional digitalization etc. But I enjoy it, specially encouraged by enthusiastic responses like yours.
Michael! I am sooooo impressed by your video and I am so pleased and jealous that you have good opportunities to work in many places. I am sure they are a lot more inside your heart and they are hardly described by pictures or letters. Anyway, I wish you all the best and if another opportunity come, I buy a good Chinese tea, together with Dim Sum.
Mr. Rogge It's amazing that one man traveled so many places in the world (specially in the East) and experinced (and filmed) so many things that are so unforgettable. I wish everybody could live the life that you led. Thanks for the films! P.S. You're 80 but you look like 50 How do you do it?
Another million appreciation from Hong Kong. You are right, now the whole world is your audience, and you indeed have done a great deal to preserve a rich cultural heritage, which you may not realized at that time, but we in Hong Kong, as the 2009 generation, owed a lot to your works
Yes Mike, it's surprising that so many people of our generation, want nothing to do with computers. They don't know what they're missing. Too bad for them.
This was a great interview and I too am amazed at the quality of these old clips. Keep them coming!!
Absolutely amazing, you looked really good during the interview. Your talking, gesture and body language still looked like a man in his 50. I am very proud of you ! Just keep up with your good work and all the best to you.
Thanks you for your video clips about Hong Kong and the world. I am grateful to watch your clips especially the past of Hong Kong. Will you make a trip to Hong Kong or any Asian country again?
