I've never thought Marc was a particularly good designer. Where someone like Balenciaga or Tom Ford had some kind of skill and talent to back up their celebrity status, what has Marc? Nothing apparently. This is how my friends dress, nearly thread for thread, but they pull it together from goodwill. Another turkey, Marc. Congratulations.

you have to remember this line is marc by marc jacobs and not the main marc joabobs line. MJ also does the louis vuitton line with some fabulous clothes.

BUT lots of teens like the marc by marc jacobs line. :o)

Thank you, I knew all of that. The title of the video tipped me off, you know? That also has no bearing on my opinion, that he's not a particularly good designer, on any level, nor at any label. Though he manages to hawk his ugly wares, which is a dubious talent in its own.

That's ridiculous, and on so many levels. Perhaps it's as simple as the designs are not attractive. There are philosophies on the nature of what is attractive in aesthtics; they find their basis in reason, science, and math... I have never bought Marc's clothes, applied for a job there (I live in Nova Scotia - no such thing exists), and nor have I had a friend who ever liked Marc Jacobs.

Well, thank you for being gracious. I appreciate it, and speaks volumes about your character. One becomes frustrated with the proliferation of useless, banal, asinine design produced today, and when confronted with rubbish like this, it becomes almost infuriating. And indeed, well said, these clothes look like they crawled out of a trash can. If one can use the same resources to create something ugly, why not use them to create beauty? Drugs do alter one's perception permanently.

less hideous than the main line mj, some wearable pieces. but overall it looks cheap and pretty much his old tricks. dont know why i really hate his stuff lately, but he just stopped producing and translating the real fash. he is too hooked on his celebrity status and keeping up with the looks. and come on his collection looks more like pre-fall stuff the trench, red plaid, tartan. just a bad rep for ny fash week
