  • Hi, can you tell which pickup is in neck position. please?)

  • @guitaristbasist Hi, It's just the stock neck postion pickup for a Fender Mexican Classic Series 60's Strat. I have it level with the pickguard on the bass side and raised about a millimeter or two on the treble side. The guitar in this video is from 2003. I don't know if they have changed the pickups in these since then. Thanks for watching/ commenting.

  • @Stratonini thahks a lot))

  • @guitaristbasist Yep, No problem.

  • Now play all of that out of Bb. :)

  • @TheMRK4321 ????

  • @Stratonini I was making a joke, 90% of that was out of E minor, i was saying play it out of Bb minor. This is pretty impressive.

  • @TheMRK4321 Aaahh gotcha, As I said I was just screwing around. I thought the little "b" thing meant "flat". I was thinking that you were thinking that I was tuned to Bflat. Thanks for the comment. Rock on!!

  • @72Wonderbread Hs3 is not thin at all.Of course if you have a lousy amp it wont shine. But if you pile on the gain on this thing it stays articulate and clear.Cuts through the mix like a lazer.

  • Nice:)

  • @jmastersherm1 Thanks, Cool page and great playing yourself man.

  • Because of your video, I bought the Dimarzio Virtual Solo to replace the bridge pickup in my '96 Fender American Standard Strat. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN TONE!

The standard pickups were very muddy, dull and blurry (and I though they were awesome when I first bought that Strat 15 years ago, had lots to learn). The Virtual Solo in the bridge sounds fantastic! Even my best friend who's a Seymour Duncan disciple was stunned and couldn't believe his ears.

  • @Stratman78 Hi, Thats cool that you got the virtual solo. I tell everyone about it. It's so hot and clear, plus the string to string balance cannot be beaten. Now we just need to get you friend on the straight and narrow. Thanks for watching the video I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to check into Dimarzio for yourself. Keep jammin and put up a video of it.

  • @72Wonderbread I'll see what I can do. What do you want? Just the DP-420?

  • @72Wonderbread I'll see what I can do.

  • worthy.

  • @OrangeJackson Hey, Thanks for stopping by/taking the time to comment.

  • @godbyone Thanks so much. The feeling is mutual. If you get a chance please check out my Guitar solo for my song Dragon Ships Across A Painted Sea. There is a middle part where a keyboard solo is going to be then more guitar.

  • Hi ! Great sound and technique... I´m from Brazil and wondering to replace my stock Fender bridge pickup to a Virtual Solo and your video shows exactly what I want hear from this pickup. Actually, a pair of Seymour´s Classic Stack STK-S1 (bridge and neck) are working 'fine', but not enough - less power than I need. Thanks

  • @thisforcin2 Hi thanks for the kind remarks. I'm glad to turn a fellow guitar player onto another great Dimarzio product.

  • Awesome playing. I love that pickup and I found for me it works well with the 250K pot. Still plenty bright and lots of output.

Are you using a 250 or 500 Pot?

And, how do you play so dang fast :)

  • @ControlCults Hi, Thank you so much for the compliment. This guitar has 250k pots. I also love this pickup. I should have played some chords in this video to show how nice the string to string balance is. Everything about the virtual solo is just stunning. Now to playing fast. I don't think that there is any certain thing to do to gain speed. I never practice for the sake of speed. I can see how slow repetition of a lick can help for speed, but I would rather and learn/ play songs. Thanks again.

  • @Stratonini

    OK, thanks man.

    Nice playing btw :)

  • hey,

i was wondering if you crank your gain,

does this pickup buzz really bad or is it noiseless.

    regards.

  • @dwijnh In this video I have the gain turned all the way up. The amp is on the lead channel. Plus i'm hitting the front end pretty hard with a Turbo Tube Screamer. This pickup has noiseless technology as do all Virtual Vintage pickups. Thanks for watching.

  • @Stratonini

    no problem,

    thanks for your reply.

  • Great sound and playing. Just ordered one myself to replace the VV Solo. The new Virtual Solo has more power and more balanced.

  • @gottfriedbrux Hey, thanks. Good luck with the new pickup.

  • How well does the Virtual Solo handle right-hand palm mutes? Does it stay tight? I'm looking for a good hum canceling, bridge position single coil for metal.

  • @infernalhammer Hey, I can't say enough good about this pickup. Yes it sounds great doing palm muting. It has a really thick low end sound with just the right amount of crisp high end. Plus it stays very tight.

  • Nice playing / sound man. Can you tell me about the fret board of your strat, anything special that allows for such shredding? Certain, radius, size frets or scalloping? contactdavidi@gmail.com

  • @davidiguitar Non scalloped fretboard, vintage fretwire. I'm not exactly sure of the neck radius but it's a sixties style C shape neck. It's kind of meaty. The only mod to this guitar is the Dimarzio Vitual Solo in the bridge position. Thanks for the comment and compliment.
