Very nice interview.. I really appreciate Ned's closeness to the customers.. but IMHO on the GPS-topic he fails. GPS is around since 1985 and probably will be around the next 30+ years.. so it is not a hype-based short-lifecycle technology, instead something for the long term.. GPS is very valueable.
agreed! GPS is a really attractive selling point. The rumor I had heard that companies were avoiding GPS was that the chips draw a lot of power and impact battery life but apparently Sony has found a workaround with the a55.
Companies need more people like Ned Bunnell as there President. He's knows the market, great with people, and lives what he talks about. You can tell he really enjoys photography and working in the industry. He's the anti Steve Jobs :)
This guy does seem like a good guy but I hope you are kidding when you knock Steve Jobs. Pentax would be lucky to have Jobs, after all he is the reason that Apple has a market cap over $260 billion and every year churns out another must-have product for consumers.
The only thing that bugs me about this interview is that the host keeps finishing his responses for him...a bad tendency in an interviewer.
Hey Ned-please hurry up and drop the price of the k-5 so i can afford one!
Fearless leader. PAIC Security Sytems whats up.
