@67goldtops Harnesses do nothing to larger dogs, they are only useful for smaller dogs who could potentially break their spines, big dogs have strong enough muscles +bones to use the collar. Moron
"Big dogs have strong enough muscles + bones to use the collar." COMICAL. First of all, "Big dogs" generate enough force to easily tear their trachea when tied off by a collar. Secondly, the entire point of a tie-out is to develop the bite in the dog. The body harness is actually supporting the dog & using opposition reflex to make the dog want to bite down harder. The immobility if the harness & the tie-out make it bite INTO the target with more force. Any questions, silly amateur?
@67goldtops No, they dont generate enough force to do that, there is enough protection around the trachea to prevent injuries. The body harness is only used when there is too much power for the dogs skeleton + muscules to handle, that is not the case if the dog is generating the power itself.
Lastly you wrote, "The harness is only used when there is too much power for the dog's skeleton...That is no the case if the dog is generating the power itself." LAUGH MY ASS OFF. Well, if the dog is not "generating the power itself," who IS generating the power when the dog pulls??? Does it use an outboard motor?? Brilliant comment! Is there a scenario in which the dog is pulling yet not "generating it's own power?" Exactly HOW does that work, based on YOUR experience w/ working dogs?
@67goldtops You sir are a fool, you clearly cannot understand English and have no idea about a dogs anatomy. I have heard of iron horse and i have trained by dogs in Schutzhund. So, this is an aggree to disaggree scenario here.
IRON HORSE?? What is IRON HORSE?? LOL. Oh, you've trained in Schutzhund ? SURE you have!! Tell me superstar, why does EVERYONE who pulls their dog in ANY competitive forum use a drag harness?? WHY?? Because it LOOKS better?? Or because it prevents the injury?? You silly joker. Now, why have you avoided my last question?? You wrote, "That is not the case if the dog is generating the power itself..." I reiterate, if the dog is NOT generating the power itself, WHO IS GENERATING the power?
@67goldtops You use a harness because it allows all pulling muscles to be used retard, not as a protection for neck. Now tell me, is this weight pull? No, thats why its not used. Unless the dog is dropped from a great height, it cannot do significant damage to itself when tied by a collar ok hunny bun?
The dog uses all its muscles REGARDLESS of whether or not it's wearing a collar or a harness. Further, like I ALREADY explained to your AMATEUR ass, the harness is used to create resistance so the dog will reactively bite harder in into the target. Further, the harness allows the head to move freely while engaging the decoy. Only joker like YOU are stupid enough to tie-out a dog via a COLLAR during bite work. Now, you STILL haven't answered my question. Who's "generating the power"?
@67goldtops I cba with you, you have no idea about training, your just looking for an argument, you read comments very quickjly and reply, hoping to annoy me, just get out mate.
I cba with you. What the fuck is CBA??? Equally as inept is your comment of "You have no idea about training..." comical. Like I just asked...What working titles have YOU put on your dogs?
Let me guess...Another COA groupie who READS about dogs on youtube & pretends he has pragmatic experience? YEAH, that's clearly YOU. Have I ever seen a "pit pulling weights?" More comedy! Yes, actually I have. I happen to own a train American Bulldogs. We train in Schutzhund & Iron Dog. If you'd even HEARD of Iron Dog, you'd know about pulling. Further, your comments show you have ZERO idea of what you're attempting to lecture about. For example, you wrote in your previous post that...
"Harnesses are for smaller dogs who could potentially break their spines..." Laughable. You REALLY think a small dog, standing in a fixed position w/ a tie-out can generate enough power to "break its own spine"? What silliness. Then you go on to say a large, more powerful dog can't generate enough power, when pulling say 6000 lbs, to tear its own wind-pipe? REALLY? It's not the power the dog generates, it the thin collar supporting the weight that can easily tear muscle. You amateur.
And NO, i thin wire collar does NOT prevent injury. It CAUSES injury, as the pressure caused by the pulling is not dispersed over a larger surface area, it is CONCENTRATED in a smaller area. Thus tearing can occur. THAT is why larger, wide, flat collars are preferred over thin ones. Give it up, clown. You're a youtube warrior. I bet you couldn't put a basic obedience title on you grandma's Golden Retriever. Yet you claim you train is Sch. What a joker. Go back to playing video games.
@67goldtops I genuinely think you have a mental problem. I was saying that it does cause injury and so what if i like playing games? You just like trolling on youtube, so please don't reply, your clearly some overweight american who thinks making a GSD walk on the leash is training
LOL, the little Brit-Boy who writes about IRON HORSE is now flapping about training! Great stuff! So tell me junior, what working titles have YOU put on your dogs? In what do you work your dogs, prey or defense, & WHY? You mentioned you train in Sch. WHY? What about Sch do YOU believe in as a working endeavor? What kind of grips do you develop in your dogs? How do you teach them to re-target on the bite? What kind of imprinting have you done to develop a foundation for bitework? WELL?
"Get a life kid..." Says the little Brit boy who cant back up his claims! What, Junior, are you a bit over your head here?? A little confused between Iron HORSE & Iron DOG?? lol. Yeah YOU train in Schutzhund!! And I fly space shuttles on my free time. You train in Schutzhund, that's why you couldn't tell me in which drives you work your dogs. Right? Joker. Like a said after reading your first comment...You're a youtube warrior. Stick to the "great dog walking routes near North Downs."
wonderful.... I discovered this breed two days ago...I like S. Bernardo, I like caucasian... but now I LOVE MOSCOW WATCHDOG!!! in Italy i think that there aren't subjects.
To me this looks just like a purebred St. Bernard, which is scary enough. I've been charged by territorial St. Bernards a couple of times and they are very intimidating animals.
