  • then we have the jumping-on-the-other-guys-back kind of greeting. I see a lot of that in high school. Skip the ones in this videos. lol

  • so great.

  • So very true-he nailed it!

  • The one edit I would make is with the last one. It is okay to actual throw your arm around pat the other guy on the back, often with a bit of a chest bump thrown in for good measure.

  • Those handshakes apply mostly to men. Women are abit different, but so far he was fairly accurate.

  • I've seen and participated in every handshake preformed in this video. It's dead on. Though sometimes I skip the first three and move directly to the forth

  • Yeah, as an American in the north I've only seen the first one, but damn that was funny.

  • Thanks for this video. Really funny and actually informative as well! I remember I had a great friend in grad school who was Dutch, and when he was moving back home we went to say goodbye...he made an effort to do it the American way, I made an effort to do it the Dutch way. We ended up with an awkward combination of hug, kiss and handshake :)

I shared this video on VOA's Student Union blog for international students.

  • bottom up approach :)

  • Very funny stuff hahaha who dislikes this?

  • the one dislike this video must be an American haha jk

  • Take my advice and save your parents hard earned money. Education to high school is a joke. University education is ok but way over rated. Racism is a big problem here. Since the U.S. is a police/ prison state, you run the risk of serving a long sentence for petty or even no crime. So, why do most around the world think it's a mecca? Because of intimidation. Look up gang stalking, gang stalking TV, gang stalking survivor, cell phone stalking, Monarch II (pt twelve), freedom's bloody corpse, etc.

  • I agree except the second one usually people slap hands first then "pound it"

and not everyone dresses that way lol...

  • too bad it isnt true thats for black people and mexicans good try tho

  • im an american and those are the tell teale signs..i doibnt dress like that but alotta of us do

  • hahahaha! I love this foreign guy lol

  • VERY CUTE !

  • haha, thats like so wrong, well at least for me.

  • variations on the handshake are as interesting as music videos by pop bands.

  • why those people scared to touch each other?

  • The American hug made me lol. "It's the strongest form of affection in North America" hahaha

  • LMAO..love the future American business leader doing a keg stand

  • Nice set of videos. Of course it's a good introduction and like how it's so hands-on!! Of course everyone in America has a different way of doing things. Those handshakes were not so common where I have lived, minus the first one! :)

  • True about the american hug. xD amoung guys anyway. Girls can hug. I wonder why?

  • Very nice, quite accurate for the most part - but remember that everyone is different :) I have no problems giving a guy a hug...for the right reasons...

  • Especially when he is gay mwahahaha

  • lol kngiht...
