I play in a small band in this genre myself, having stumbled upon this video because of a recommendation by a friend of mine... You blew me away, guys! Even insnpired me to go pick up my instrument and practice! Absoluteley loved it!
Yep, it's tough for us fans to hear that Chris left the Steeldrivers....BUT FEAR NOT! I just heard them last weekend with new singer, Gary Nichols, and he's great. He has a similar tone/raspiness that Chris has, but I tell ya, he emotes feeling in these songs like I haven't heard. (I also think he's a better guitar picker) No doubt, loosing Chris is tough, but they haven't missed a beat. Everyone must check them out. You won't be disappointed!!
@acdcfreak06 Hey. I'm from Kentucky as well! Good to see a fellow KYian on the 'tube! I'm a banjoist/guitarist/singer in a bluegrass gospel band although my big intrest right now is actually jazz/ jazz-gospel music. Your right, bluegrass does have a long history dating from our scottish (also sometime irish and british) ancestors. Often played bluegrass tunes like "Whiskey Before Breakfast" are straight up celtic tunes.
Nice meeting you. Whereabouts in the Bluegrass state are you from?
i freakin' love this song. and the fact that i typically listen to heavy metal in the likeness of pantera and mastodon tells you that this stuff is extremely good.
I like it, but I wouldn't really call it "bluegrass." Its kinda like acoustic rock, but not that either. You can't really put it in one place, and I like it like that!
Mike Henderson was already known as one of the premiere guitar slingers in Nashville, now he's one upping even that with the Steeldrivers. Don't konw anybody else who's gone from blues and rock to bluegrass! Great music!
Incredible...Just incredible! I regret that I have never been a Bluegrass fan until now. I had a sleepless night and just caught the Steeldrivers on Late Night with Conan O'Brian rerun. The song was "Blue Side of the Mountain." Wow! Thank you folks, if you are out there and you read this stuff.
caught your act at the Station Inn in Nashville it was a great performance I bought the live album and the newest one that night. Not a bad song on either album.Best album I've bought in years! Keep up the great music.
