@Jazzer1337 This experiment was a proof of concept. I wouldn't advise anyone to use the Balance Board as a replacement for analog pedals, because there's no travel.
@irontiger It actually worked reasonably well with sensitivity and dead zone tweaked, but no doubt it is not a great replacement. I can't seem to run it at the same time as using my wiimote for freetrack anyway >.<
I'd take a Logitech G25 if they didn't cost $300. Like with most of my videos, I'm positioning myself abnormally in order to get the controllers in view of the camera. If I play in a normal, relaxed posture, I perform much better. It also helps to have the screen in front of you instead of next to you on the couch.
Personally, I think that playing racing games with the Wii-motes tilt controls is much more accurate than the D-pad or the Joystick since it is much more sensitive to slight angles and movements. Though, it takes a slight learning curve, and thats why most gamers disregard this way of gaming.
Pretty cool vid, I was thinking that this could be done with the balance board and you proved me right. Though, might I add that you need to improve your steering and braking skills. :)
This is on my laptop, so the settings are pretty low. On my more powerful desktop, with everything turned up, it looks much better. The Xbox 360 version looks better still.

So would the script used for the pedals also work effectively as rudder control in a flight simulator?

I wouldn't know. I've never played it. It's an integral part of the PC version's gameplay, so I would hope the Wii version had it as well.

Sadly, no. Maybe in NFS:Undercover. That game will support Logitech's force feedback wheel, so who knows what other features EA will throw in.

Wow, you can't drive for shit. I'd take a Logitech G25 over this piece of garbage any day.
