Built a big fat power stator for my mill and been letting it run flat out now as been at 12V for 6 months then 24V for 6months and broke the 1KW barrier and got 1200 Watts at 24V system, now turned it up to full, and at 48V system it is finding 1500 watts now so next 6 months at that, so over winter it should knock out if winds right the magic 2000watts, i have put a few videos of it up on the tube from last month exciting stuff
That will charge a good 'bank' Andy, tell Utilities to get off at that rate, don't be toasting those coils Andy, main thing to watch with Hugh's designs hard to beat his designs results innit. Got a cracking supplier for pma's MUCH better than the crap in E.C. at present 3all 360rpm rated, 2kw @ 295 rpm.
I have done something similar to my wooden blade i pined on ally plate to catch more low wind power and a slight into the wind concave and it does work better but in the lower wind but in the high winds I just about sit in furl all the time if i add to the tail i can bend my scaffold pole to about 10 degrees and thats only a 500mm 10" section added so i need to do a wee bitty work on that TTFN andy
You beat me to it Andy lol! I was considering doing exactly that myself, wooden blades with added steep angled area at the root, bending scaffolding!, a very good sign (in one way at least).
hi there andy here, Do you have people living near your mill, it sounds a bit metalic with the gearing perhaps, did you pmg the alternator or just loss the 45W to power up the coils,
great kit for £15 and a wee bit here and there to fab the rest keep up the good work
