I really enjoyed this video. Flags Of Our Fathers is one of my favorite movies :D and this song goes along just right. great job bro! this is my favorite song =)
Rest In Peace, Ralph Ignatowski..That soldier on the ground at 4:22 ...He was tortured by the japanese for 3 days and they found his body on the third day..they broke his skull in on the back of his head..cut off his ears, cut out his eyes and cut off his nose..broke his arms..bayonetted him multiple times in the stomach..He was only 18..Makes me weep everytime..
Of the six men depicted in the picture, three (Franklin Sousley, Harlon Block, and Michael Strank) were killed during the battle; the three survivors (John Bradley, Rene Gagnon, and Ira Hayes). Rene Gagnon was from New Hampshire, was a Marine. Im proud of him specialy because the town he lived in is the next town over from mine.
Very good job mate. I esspecially liked the part with the Dobi (my Service Dog is a Dobi). My Father is the "Old Breed" USMC, WWII, 1-1-1-C and spent time in New Zealand & Austraila durring the War. He speaks fondly of both. He went back to both in the 70's & got to visit a Nurse that took care of him while he was in the Hospital there. My Thanks to both Countries. Salute! Semper Fi
@fifacod I did too share this vid people, Im usually quite modest about my vids but the world needs to see this it makes me proud that the USMC is on our side and fought and died in our defece while the UK ran back home, Australia and the U.S.A. , are SEMPER FIDELIS....side note Australian Army and US Marines are currently training together right now at shoalwater bay as part of Talisman Sabre, happens every second year.
@CommanderSkywalker93 thx for responding back, but im british, and we didnt run back home (well we did) but we held out against the nazis. and fought longer, but not as tough a war as the US did, but we couldnt have done it without US help
@CommanderSkywalker93 Well, politically we have the JSF, which I know is also with the Americans and several other countries but still, it's there. Militarily Britain doesn't really have any interest in the South West Pacific, mainly because it's the other side of the world from them. Also, "politically" we have the Governor General which is the representative of the queen. Militarily again, our special forces are based on the Britsh ones, not the Americans.
@CommanderSkywalker93 erm i don't think so. You might of forgot but it's always been the same the USA Start it and the UK Finish it. Look at the war we a re fighting now or where. You USA Started it and we ended up joining for what oil? And i'm sorry but you USA Also trained the people and give them weapons that we where having war with so don't fucking thing the UK is sitting not here arse.

So, before you go and say the "Australian" troops, remember it's not just Australians.

@fifacod yeah no disrespect but that action has kinda shaped our alliance today I would say our country is pro USA and slightly less so UK
CommanderSkywalker93 7 months ago
@CommanderSkywalker93 I disagree.. having been to the US and Britain, our culture is substantially more British than American.
