@johnnystir You cannot blame Marco for this. He had the inside line and a half of car length ahead of Carpenter. At that point, Marco had the right of way. Carpenter pinched him down causing Marco to have to let up knowing he couldnt make the turn without room to drift up. Carpenter surged past and struck Marcos front tyre. Carpenter should have known his actions would cause a crash but probably didnt.

no doubt. i've always been an indy car fan. been to every indy 500 since '95 but i have also been a NASCAR fan for several years. this shit that NASCAR has pulled is just terrible. i have a friend who works for NASCAR and he is certain they will be gone in the near future. he is kinda freaking out about it. would be cool to see a bunch of NASCAR guys heading for the IRL. maybe stewart could finally get that indy 500 he's come so close to winning so many times.

I grew up on NASCAR... I've always loved ALL racing, but was closer to NASCAR, and have worked with some local level racers, building chassis, etc...but the way it is now, it's nauseating.

But you're right...the only way NASCAR has to go is down, and if the manufacturers end up having to pull out, it'll definitely fall. I don't see it going away...it's too big right now, but I can see them cutting races, having short fields and so on. And it would be great to see some drivers bolt to the IRL
