And another big mistake is when they killed the jaguar! the jaguars were very importans to them they couldnt kill jaguares!! so this movie is more about aztecs!! But fuck this! This movie is the big shit! ilove this film!

Mel has a definite gift for bringing history to life for us to view so we can realise the impact it has had on our lives today. There is so much subject matter that hollywood has not even begun to scratch the surface of, yet they insist on remaking old subject matter films. Mel is a pioneer in the development of films producing this new subject matter. I cant wait to see his next venture! Congrats Mel, you are the man!

The Mayan, like the Aztecs made human sacrifices. They also were imperialistic and conquered many of their neighbors, who they would sacrifice to their gods. Your death toll is off as well. You are using a high number or maximum estimate of all Native Americans in ALL the western hemisphere, whereas the real number is probably much lower. Also the vast majority of Native Americans died because of diseases, like small pox, something that would have happened even if Europeans were pacifist.

I just saw the film first time last night. Safe to say it was one of the most FUCKING AWESOME movies I've seen recently and no I cannot describe my feelings without cursing and capsing. Cameron and Spielberg and all the others who have forgotten the art of action film making, THIS is how you do it! That it was made with mostly unknown first time actors with a language barrier on top just makes it all the more impressive.

Beside Mel Gibson knows what story telling and cinemtography is- i give him that; Passion of Christ, Apocalypto- two visually gripping films. A director who knows that it makes more sense to use an authentic cast . I really loved the fact that he did not choose an english dialogue. That simply does not work for stories like these at all. No overuse of slow-motion . I like special effects which you never realise that they are special effects.

Mel Gibson is the greatest director to ever live. His movie are so realistic because he does not sugar anything up he show it like it really is. Watching Mel's movie make you feel like you were there witnessing the event. His movie bring lot of emotion which many movies nowadays lack.
