bahaha dumbass that was layers of Lexan panels!!! about ten panels to be exact...so your dumb it is labled correctly and you contradicted yourself with that statement....BULLET RESISTANT GLASS IS MADE FROM LEXAN so quit posting dumb stuff and trolling...ENJOY THE VIDEO NOT FIND SHIT JUST TO POST CONDESCENDING COMMENTS...thanks
that was a 3/4 inch Lexan panel. That was NOT a "bulletproof" sheet of glass, which is usually comprised of laminated Lexan panels. If you're going to put a vid like this up, label it truthfully
OK, thanks for the invite to subscribe. i look forward to your experiments. Hope you enjoy your new gun. I am tempted to buy a Barrett .50, but don't want to part w/ $8000 over it. It has a reputation for going thru Lexan. The Chiappa Rhino looks to me also like the new advancement in revolvers; the 1st little .357 that hardly kicks. But I think I will wait till it has been in production a little longer.
@Thunkful2 awesome man!! i shot a barret .416 one time! one shot SO FUN not as much recoil as you would expect! yea they are expensive! my friend who builds custom AR15s and 1911s ordered one for a customer( we had a little fun before he picked it up LOL ) but i will have a gun review of a savage 93R17 FVSS and 17HMR ammo review hornady vs winchester and V-max(17gr vs XTP(20gr and CCI tnt HP(17gr..yea i need to do a revolver review! i agree that Chiappa RHINO is an awesome .357 mag..peace man!
what happens if the bullet hits the lexan at an angle? Suppose someone has a shield made of two panels of lexan mitered together 90 degrees apart with point-corner facing the gun so that the bullet makes a glancing blow? What if the surface of such lexan is lubricated w/ wd-40 or silicon?
@Thunkful2 thats used by the united states military...when you angle the lexan it makes a thicker plate and harder to penetrate...but the stuff i used in the video..it would not of mattered, the 7.62 would penetrate it..now the WD40 im really not sure?
I would think that at some angle, a given bullet would be deflected, as objects follow the path of least resistance. I can imagine experiments all the way from say a 3 degree sharp nose to 90 degrees or more. If I had a big supply of Lexan I would like to experiment.
@Thunkful2 thats a great idea, once i get some more Lexan i think im going to do some test and make videos of some the ideas you mentionrd..it would be a really cool experiment..thanks for the comment friend!
@Thunkful2 yea man please subscribe! it will be a little while but i will have some REAL 3/4" lexan panels used in humvee windows made by general dynamics!! im so wrapped up right now in gun transfers, my next gun is a custom Savage 93R17 BSEV, with a full trigger job on the accutrigger with one pound trigger pull! sexy gun, stainless steel twist fluted barrel!! im going to do lexan test with 17HMR full metal jackets! we will see what those wicked little bastards will do???
@djvideos9427 yes indeed i do and its at least 2" thick and must have a frame to be considered "bullet resistant", but it is Lexan which is bullet resistant glass, just different thickness, and a frame i cannot make...this is just a fun test...im not a big corporation making this stuff..im just making it in my back yard
@ggalbraith it was name brand polycarbonate LEXAN ...not the cheap stuff.....i get it for free i fix windows for a living so i can get many different varities...my next video is going to be AR15(5.56x45) vs the same amount of lexan in this video....but im not sure the kevlar would stop it....look at my other video mosin nagant and AK47 vs bullet proof glass(i have 2 3"thick hard back books behind the lexan)and it barely did anything?? if i can get kevlar i will test it for you?
@sinofallsinners I plan on doing my own testing soon as I can find the time. My theory is that the bullet should deform enough at the point after impacting a combination of acrylic+polycarbonate measuring 1" total thickness in order for a level 3 kevlar vest to 'catch' the rest of it. Here is a link to layer pattern of bullet proof glass able to stop 5 rds of 7.62x39 (standard ak round). The polycarbonate backing is what catches the bullet so replace that with kevlar instead.
@MCpeepantzz ... hahahaha yeah im a lightweight..some reason that wasr has some punch to it?? the SKS has half the recoil of it?? also that vid was shot long ago i was a assault rifle newbie...ive gotten a better stance now ;)
@sinofallsinners, aw hell, give him a break. I'm a weapons expert in several weapons both guns and blades and my hands, (boxing amateur champ locally, 20-0 18 ko baby!) but after half a decade of being horifically crippled and not touching a rifle or a gun in a long time. My first time firing an AK (Which I'm holding a WASR 10/63 in my hands right now, borrowed, considering buying one). I got bruises on my shoulders. And I'm 6'3 267! and I hurt my cheekbone! :(
@hoboboxerjoe hey thanks alot man...finally someone with sense! everyone acts like if you dont hold a gun like they do your doing it wrong! we all have our ways..peace..
@hoboboxerjoe You must bruise like a bananna if you get bruises from an AK. I've never bruised even after putting hundreds of rounds through the gun per session of shooting.

you do realise that lexan is only USED in bullet proof glas and its not actually bullet proof glass itself

Question: Was that polycarbonate or acrylic? I've read that 1"+ of polycarbonate (plastic) can stop 7.62x39 with kevlar backing behind it
