Applying to the JET Program was a complete waste of my time. Getting accepted into the program (or job) is impossible. Admissions staff is harsh, in that they make you wait at least a year, for absolutely nothing. @11889music yes - everything goes in one big envelope - like a large manilla envelope and write all the info on the outside - address of the consulate - your return address - and then most likely you're going to want to take that envelope down to UPS or Fed Ex and have them send it to Washington so you can track the package and know that it arrived and was signed for. Paper clips are fine - staples used to be a no-no

One thing I noticed that they stressed for the 2009 application is that they actually state that there should be no blanks even when not applicable. If there are blanks, they said the application would then be discarded.
I figure this is another way they weed out people :p

but now that i know about JET. i am very interested. i've always wanted to go to japan, since i was like 13. it was kinda of a bummer that i need a 4yr degree in collage. considering im fresh out of collage. and wanted or want to go right away, ASAP. were i live isnt really working :/

When I was in HS, I was a member of my school's academic decathlon team. When I was finishing college, the teacher/coach I had then was teaching at a local HS and asked if I would come coach their Ac-Dec team. And I did and it was a great job.

My native language is spanish, my AL english, and this was just my first six months trying to learn japanese.. But i have heard horrors about non being native english speaker!! I dont want to keep studying japanese if i will not be able to get a job in japan!

You know what's funny...I actually don't eat fish either, and I DID mention it on the medical form XD But I also said that I when I lived there I had absolutely no trouble eating over there despite the fact that I don't eat it, so hopefully that'll be ok :)

I was worried for sec just now thinking that I forgot something, since you sounded like you were referring to two different things when talking about "Statement of Purpose" and "Letter of Intent." When do you find out whether you made it to the next stage or not? Also, listening to this reminds me about how competitive the application process is... I really, really hope that I get in. How did you feel when you got accepted to the program?
It's hard to quantify how much of a help you have been but rest assured it is immense and it is hard to imagine going through the application process without your vlogs. thanks for everything
i forgot to add my transcript from my community college, but I have an MFA. do you think I still have a chance? I am trying to get them to send in tomorrow (an unofficial version of course), but I am not sure if I should just give up the hope or what, if for some reason I can't get my school to do that for me.... What do you think?

So, two copies of every document in the package and for multiple page documents (i.e. SoP letter), paperclip them together?
Also, should it all (every document) go into one big envelope (the kind with the metal clasp) ?

I got more worried when I got the interview, but once I got my letter of acceptance, I did a little dance in my living room. :D
You find out if you got the interview in January.
