Why do people make stupid comments ie He was high as a kite-- Jimi is not forgetinfg the words, hes in key, hes having fun with his showmanship and humor "kiss this guy". In less than 4 years,he created steller albums, 500+ concerts, built a studio, produced several bands including: Cat Mother, Love, Erie Apparant. A drug addict does not show this kind of drive, determination,ambition and a work ethic that most people do not achieve in a life time of 80 years. GIVE THE MAN A BREAK

I think Hendrix liked to party, quite often drank wine and smoked some marihuana....and only occasionally experimented with some heavier stuff. He got high through music...

@debashs I agree with you.Jimi Hendrix's drug usage was way over exagerated.He rocorded so much that they are still releasing his unheard music 40+ yrs later.He died accidentally taking an over dose of sleeping pills.Could have happened to anyone.alot of people around him at time believed he was nurdered by his manager.he did after all have a huge life insurance policy on Jimi.there are alot of questions surrounding jimi's death to this day

@smithdsmit Not so sure, in the film "Jimi Hendrix" his friends said he would always do double the drugs of everyone else. He was smoking hash and did two hits of Owsley LSD before his famous Monterey Pop performance. He cancelled a New York concert on the spot because he was too wasted to preform. Drugs were so common. It was a MAD magazine Alfred E. Newman "What, me worry?" era.
