Remember the LUAS driver is charged ON SUSPICION of those offenses. If he is found guilty then I will retract my statement. Until then I stand by what I have said.

The bus driver may still be up on charges himself, so don't jump the gun by saying we are wrong.

I still can't believe this happened. I was on that bus yesterday. I got off a couple of stops before O' Connell street (just after Harold's Cross) around 2:40 pm. Thank God because the part of the bus that was hit by the luas was where i was sitting (around the middle left lower section).

Wow. I use to ride the Luas daily in Central 1 but I switched to the new Dublin City Bikes on Sunday. Its a lot lighter on the wallet, although probably more dangerous. Tragically in the morning traffic rush this week a cyclist was killed on Wellington Quay.

Just repeating what I read in the paper. But anytime the Luas goes through this intersection the light has to be red. So he may have had green light but for some reason was stuck in the intersection while it was red. Im just curious why. Pedestrians running across the street makes sence. But I have read in several places that Gardai cars were speeding around the area with lights on right before the crash which could have had something to do with it.
