This was at the time were every game had to be 3D. It wasn't until a few years ago that they found out that there's nothing wrong with 2D gameplay with New Super Mario Bros, Street Fighter 4 etc. Now the new Rayman, Sonic etc games are all 2D. So this would be an ideal time for a new (downloadable?) Jazz Jackrabbit game. Especially with the awesome multiplayer.

is there a reason why my PC, which has a 2 core processor and a 1GB video card, + 4GB RAM Runs this game on like, 1 Frame per second? and that's after changing the Render Device to D3D and other enhancements too. it's probably because i run Windows 7, but i applied the compatibilty thing and it didnt work. what can i do?

@ethai1 easiest method is delete JAZZ3D.ini and execute Jazz3d.exe, the driver setup screen appears, you choose the bottom option - Software Rendering. Or you may want to manually edit the present ini - overwrite the first line under [Engine.Engine] with GameRenderDevice=SoftDrv.Softw­areRenderDevice

But if Epic Games creates a new JJ in 2D, I'll definately buy it.

lol @ all the people saying this game sucks when it's an unreleased ALPHA "proof of concept" build. someone a number of years ago still had a couple CDs and ended up uploading them to the internet, if they hadn't done that none of the whiners would have known it ever existed. Also, as for the way it looks, this game was being worked on around Rayman 2 & Megaman Legends etc, since those games were made with roughly the same technology don't say jazz3 looked like ass, it's just incomplete 1999 gfx

Uhm, I actually have to say that if the weapons were buffed up a bit and if the project would have gotten to the professional stage, it could have been pretty good. jazz was easy to manouver and the cameras were ok.

Jj3 could have gone on to become a sort of MDK style game, and who doesn't like MDK?

Granted the existing version of the game is far from MDKish, but the devil is in the details and you don't have details at this stage of gamedesign.
