In 1000 years, I wonder if robots will believe humans ever really existed. Will they worship us as their creators? When they unearth a relic car crusher, will their faith waiver? Will mankind fail at the hands of a virus or other bug? Will we kill one another to the last man standing? Will our mechanical overlords keep us as slaves to think for them or dispose of us as irreverent, inefficient machines and pests. Will we combine to become the greatest new life in the galaxy? Time will tell.
they could change the design of the tractor eliminating the cab and other human necessities. it could be a good thing say if they wanted to harvest 24 hours non stop, they could. that would be efficient..
The goal here is to have no operator in the tractor, that way you dont have to pay another worker... it would be pointless if you paid a guy to sit in a cab and do absolutely nothing, and then pay for all the technology on tob of that.
When it comes to driving a grain cart, making the tractor a robot doesnt improve efficiency. Though when it comes to planting i could see this being handy, it would be kinda like RTK, except the operator doesnt have to turn the tractor around.
How is that stupid? there willl still more than likely be someone in the tractor, it will just be controlled by the combine while unloading. Its less "fun" for the tractor operator, but that isn't what farming is really about anymore, it is no longer a labor business, it is a financial and managerial business, and new ways to be more efficient will keep coming into play
