It's not quite as heart warming a story when all the details are examined. Gordon entered a Highway without Yielding to oncoming traffic killing himself and his wife. Seriously injuring the couple in the other car.

What does age and holding hands have to do with anything? This is not a natural death. If the Yeagers family cared enough, they would have provided safe transportation for their loved ones and added years to their happy lives.

Its so easy for people to stand there and judge. You have no idea why they were on the road; and since when does a tragic accident make the basis of ones whole life - since when does one mistake eradicate all the rest of their years. I hope to God none of you ever find yourselves in a position such as this.

They paid the ultimate price, they lost their lives - how dare anyone make less of that. Its a tragedy the other woman was injured, but its no less of one that these two lost their lives.

I knew the Yeagers and it's a great love story...but as a result of the tragic accident that took their lives, it also left my aunt laying in the hospital with a broken neck and internal injuries with her husband, children, and grandchildren standing by her side.

What a beautiful tribute to a couple that lived a long happy life. God bless your family. The pictures are worth a million words . I lost both of my parents within seven months of each other. They were only in their sixties and should have lived 20 years more. God must have a plan for everyone. Knowing that Gordon and Norma lived a happy fullfilling life with their family should get you through the days. Reaching 90 & 94 are blessings alone . God Bless your family.

The love of my life died in a car accident at age 16. The pain is excruciating. Worse, he was taking a foolish risk and nearly killed someone. That pain too is excruciating. My prayers in this story is that it is not so romaticized that we forget the innocent victim in the Yeager's accident, Mrs. Clapton, in critical care with internal bleeding, a broken neck, and an anguished future with recuperation at age 64, and probably a shortened life. She must not be forgotten in prayers.

While their "passing" is touching....He was due to have his license revoked by the State of Iowa and probably shouldn't have been driving. He caused their deaths and almost killed the other people in the other car by not yielding the right of way. The woman in the other car is in Critical condition with a broken Neck. Tragic loss because he didn't want to give up driving!
