Thats great and all but what you didnt see is the five footer in the other bed room. I have larger gators at home and at the store. I cant tell you how many gators I get from people that buy babies and then give me their 3+ footers.
As long as they're treated well and they're not kept in an enclosure that's too small (which would need to be huge once the gator gets over 3 feet) I guess it's ok. Having said how I don't agree with most people buying baby gators I still don't want to see any laws passed prohibiting them as pets. I'd like people to be able to decide on their own if they want one or not and not have it forced upon them.
you should be able to pick up an under tank heater for under 50 at a pet store depending on size. let me know what size tank you have, I have them at the store and might be able to send you one for cheap.
i'd say get flexwatt, very easy to use, use with a thermostat or rheostat, it's like maybe 2 bucks a foot for 11" wide *you'd only need 1ft of 11" to put half the bottom of a 20, or you could use 3" or 4" wide etc..
I have the year on each box to tell me how old they are. This way when I expand and have more snakes I dont have remember off the top of my head. I write the year they where born, their ID sequence, and their name if they have one. The snakes that are hets have that listed on there as well. All of it is written on their feeding charts as well.
what do you make your rack out of? wut tubs? and what measurements do you use? also...lol do you prefer the tops? because i hate mine...but i like how you write on yours its a great idea.
I use the melamine board. 3/4 thick. The racks we built for my brother in law where using pre cut boards from home depot. The sides where 36 inches tall. All boards are 16 inches wide. The middle boards are 48 inches long. I use 12 qt boxes that fit four wide into the shelf or 28 qt boxes that go in longways. I use tops because none of the boxes go in all the way so they are a must. I use a wet erase marker on the tops of the smaller boxes because it doesnt stain when erased.

Everything was cool 'till I saw the baby gator why the hell do people get a gator if they're only going to keep it while it's small and manageable...

is that the only heat you have for them is the oil heater.. please comment back
theone859 2 years ago
in the begining but we now are using heat tape again in the back to give them a hot spot
snakeman152 2 years ago
so you could use a oil heater though cause i dont really want to spend $100 on UTH (under tank heater)
