They are all awesome shots, no doubt. But to be honest, all you have to do is shoot for an MA anytime the enemy is in the air and your bound to get one every now and then. Then just take all those awesome shots and compile them together. After years of playing I'm sure you could make a 5 minute movie of your shots. I know you didn't make this video, but I'm just directing at the guy who did.

There IS a "vulcan." It's a modified chaingun on mods such as Renegades and Shifter, and is ridiculously overpowered and unbalanced. But even the normal chaingun is a skilless, point-and-click weapon. (and there are a lot of cheats for it) That's why it was always banned in dueling tournaments. The disc launcher and grenade launcher are the ultimate; they require not only very good weapons skills but also great mobility and tactics. Using them well requires being a good player.

The superfast jetpacking is common among good players but it's not like any schlub can do it. The average noob is barely more mobile than a UT character, while a pro can cross whole maps in seconds. Also: in the beginning of the movie when its in black and white, why does he zoom across the ground and hit a structure then fly directly into the enemy base?

That's a cut to one video from another. The structure he lands on in B&W is the flag and it cuts to another recording. I guess you're talking about the bounce in the very beginning at about... 8 or 9 seconds in? That's a maneuver by jetting/falling quickly along a forward path, then going up the incline and turning sideways during the incline to redirect him. It works because Tribes physics are a little funny and, when possible, attempt to redirect your motion. I think as he turns on the incline, he hits jump and the jetpack right at the height of it, and the wall at the top directs the force upward with him.
It leads to wonky things like that, but they're fun to master. The main unintended physics result is "skiing," which is how you work up that kind of speed in the first place. By repeatedly jumping down a hill, you keep gaining momentum that you can use to jet huge distances. It was unintended but it's part of Tribes Orthodoxy now. Future games automated it by letting you just hold down jump.

there is no public realesed autoaim for tribes1 and even if there was u couldnt hit ma's like that with it. suxors just knows how to hit long ma's. this game is out for like 8 years, u would think ppl know how to aim by now. i used to play in lt mod with him alot and i would have noticed if he had autoaim.
Uhm. I agree with Point one, ruhtraeel, but point two, no fucking way. Disclauncher is sick, because of the physics. Try editing Tribes 1 someday, you'll see. And if you're good with it, the fir-rate doesn't matter. Vulcan=Chaingun=Pussy.
I always used disc, and my gaming was like this.
It was extremely satisfying to kill peeps with mid airs. :)
