I never find Hondas beating V8s unless they're running a ridiculous amount of BOOST Even after beating a V8 that Honda probably won't last until next year's runs. I think we all know how AMAZING Hondas are when trying to handle "TOO MUCH BOOST BRO!" But then again, I am yet to see any turbo'd import beat the $30k 412 HP 5.0.
The 5.0 is a stock 12 second car, gets more mileage than the STI and an EVO, while matches mileage with the 370Z.

I have a 2006 Civic Si and a 2001 Mustang GT. I use them for different purposes. The Civic is a great all around car- decent performance, nice handling, comfortable interior, and it's easy to drive. The Mustang, on the other hand.... I use it for fun and for the torque and power it has. I've drag raced them both at our local dragstrip, and yes- the Mustang was faster. But it also gets about 12 mpg less than the Civic and requires more finesse to drive. Like I said- different purposes altogether.
@segreylapa Rice is the seed of the monocot plant Oryza sativa. Maybe not the best question to ask, but you are right, the newer Si's make around 200 hp stock, so a few mods and you've got a quick car if you know how to launch without too much wheelspin.
I like this thread because most of you seem intellingent. I have a Honda Civic Si and I love it. It's certainly not a bad ass racer, it's just a fun little car. I also plan on adding a Mustang Cobra to my garage. I'll then have a fun little car for zipping around in and a bad ass motha for tearing around in. If you're really a car guy you have to appreciate cars for what they are. You can't even compare these two. I like them both for what they are, but they are two polar opposites.

Imports were created to be eaten by American Muscle. My dad has a stang just like the one in this video. 2007 mustang gt 5 speed. 3:55 gears. If it hooks up good he can run high 13s in it. Its damn fast for only having 300hp.

well, i am a proud owner of an 1991 civic,
its just a great car to go from A to B, but also fun to drive even if its veerry slow (mine have the stock 92 hp motor rofl)
but i did some lapping once with it, geez its like a kart ! my friend owns a vr6 jetta, and i tried it on the circuit,.. i couldnt get into the curbs as fast with it....
what im tryin to say, is those hondas are slow yes, but are fun to drive and inexpensive. and since im not a drag fan.... im not planning to buy a stang !

v4 b20vtec with turbo charger and aftermarket internals 600hp(maybe 1/2 or less the price of american muscle cars)

Ricer has two definitions: (1) an import driver that would shit themselves if they ever ran faster than 14s, and (2) an import driver with $10,000 of stickers, rims, body kits and other worthless shit on an otherwise stock car. I have a 2006 Civic Si and a 2001 Mustang GT. I use them for different purposes. The Civic is a great all around car- decent performance, nice handling, comfortable interior, and it's easy to drive. The Mustang, on the other hand.... I use it for fun and for the torque and power it has. I've drag raced them both at our local dragstrip, and yes- the Mustang was faster. But it also gets about 12 mpg less than the Civic and requires more finesse to drive. Like I said- different purposes altogether.

@segreylapa Rice is the seed of the monocot plant Oryza sativa. Maybe not the best question to ask, but you are right, the newer Si's make around 200 hp stock, so a few mods and you've got a quick car if you know how to launch without too much wheelspin.

I like this thread because most of you seem intellingent. I have a Honda Civic Si and I love it. It's certainly not a bad ass racer, it's just a fun little car. I also plan on adding a Mustang Cobra to my garage. I'll then have a fun little car for zipping around in and a bad ass motha for tearing around in. If you're really a car guy you have to appreciate cars for what they are. You can't even compare these two. I like them both for what they are, but they are two polar opposites.

It's not about that, it's about appreciating cars for what they are, for their purpose and their design and styling and so on not drag racing. @TummyLover im a mustang guy myself but i give credit where its due some hondas are pretty quick even stock especially that one with nearly 200hp [crank] 4.77gears on an lsd 6speed tranny may not have a whole lot of torque but you can rev it pretty high from a dig that person could drive better is why it did so poorly then check out cars.com it has all the specs
