My Grandpa has a 69 Pete with the 6 cylinder Detroit Diesel in it and it sounds like a monster with straight pipes, I can hear him crank it up and i live about a mile away from him. Nice truck !!

This '72 that you have is the last of the 359s built with the old-style Unilite cab, so used when the 359 was originally introduced in 1967. From 1973-87 the modernized 1100 cab was used.

it's got a 400 Big Cam Cummins the truck has 290,000 original miles on it and the motor was rebuilt 3 years ago. It sat ever since. It's got a 5x4 tranny and has plenty of power, just ain't very fast. The only thing I would change mechanically is the rear gear ratio. Thank You.

Ok people this a work in progress, I am currently stripping paint off the truck right now, the frame and fifth wheel have been painted and are back together. Please lay off the swearing, I don't look at your video's and make degrading comments. A lot of you are comparing new truck to this 1972......I said 1972 Model 359 Peterbilt. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Thank You, and Keep on Truck'in.

haha i knew it sounded like a cummins from the compressor lol my dad had aussie built internationals T2650 T2670 and a T2700 his last truck he owned but he bought a Transtar cabover with a 290 cummins it was a american truck coz it was converted from LHD 2 RHD with a sleeper but got shortened into a slim cab

People get the N855 series confused with the 1693/3406 as both are turbocharged in-line six cylinder configurations. But this engine is a Cummins NTC-400, like the video author stated.
