Have you ever tried firing the web platform us your moving up from a jump, then activating it while in mid jump, then landing on it? It's much faster than your method, not trying to be a dick or anything, just a tip for a fellow fan of one of the best games of all time.

im playing the squawks part right now and i really can't fathom how gusty glade could be harder than this...at least with gusty glade you go WITH the flow, but here, you pretty much have to go AGAINST it.
its not necessarily that you go against the flow its the fact that the flow changes (if you went against the flow the whole time it would be easy). Youll be going along (with or against the flow) then when you don't expect it the flow changes and throws you into a wall...man that level sucked haha.
It doesn't matter if the flow changed or not, because in a place like Squawks' part in the brambles, there's no real reason why you would want to let yourself go with the flow in the first place, since the level is designed to make sure that if you did go with the flow you would just be killing yourself anyway. My point is that no matter which way the wind blows in that level, you would have to go against it in order to survive. And yeah, that level really did suck.
Nah, Gusty Glade, Rambi Rumble, Rickety Race, and Chain Link Chamber are much harder than this level, and I hate those levels. They suck! They even belong to the lost world. Gusty Glade is the hardest level of all.
rambi rumble and rickety race were easy imo, they took two or three tries on my first playthrough. Chainlink chamber used to be hard for me, and gusty glade was annoying only for the fact that it was needed to get wrinkly kong. Castle crush was one of the hardest imo

well the 1st part of gusty glade is cake because you get the snake and just jump through everything. the second part is easy too just use dixie and use slow fall and just jump through everything. honestly, i cakewalked through that level this was don't see how it can be harder for anyone than the bramble part of animal antics... that gives me a headache even if i think about it

Well, due to the gusty winds, it's kind of impossible to rush the Squawks area; this is about as good as a run can get; without speeding up Squitter.
One thing that helped me with him, was pressing both triggers closely together while upward in a jump; makes the web appear right there and lands you on it, instantly.
IIRC, I think you can midair-jump Rattly on his way down into his section, too; shaving a few super-jump seconds.
The spider bit can be done a lot faster by jumping further: you don't have to place webs right next to each other. But the rhino section was amazing, you made him fly :)
I don't think this is the hardest level in the game. When I was younger this level was really easy. Toxic tower always got the best of me untill I found the hidden animal barrels which at that point made it a breeze. This level is hard none the less.
i always wanted to pass it without losing an animal........but i always got freaked out in the parrot part!!! the wind always struck me to the vines lol
Just one thing you could have improved on, at 2:47, you could just fly blindly to the left when the wind is WITH you. The Zinger's don't start to circle till you see them, and you'll zip through both circles without getting hit. I've tried it ;D
Oh and if you do do that, when you pass the second circle hit "down" fast otherwise you'll crash into the overhead bramble near Rattly's crate.
very nice!!! i just got 102% completion on my copy I downloaded to virtual console on wii, and i'll say that this stage was definitely the most difficult part. Now i will say this: While one of your original goals may have been to not lose a monkey, i found it faster to sacrifice one of my characters to the flying purple bugs(forgot actual name) in the squawks section because you immediately get a dk barrel on the right side after them.
Lightning Lookout is a piece of cake, nay, the WHOLE cake, compared to this level. The halfway barrel should've been AFTER Squitter instead of right before.
I'm impressed with that speed run as well. Although, I lost to three things there on my journey. They are one boomerang, one Bullhorn, and one Cursed Roller. Anyway, I'm still impressed with that speed run.
nice and you call that rattle part a mistake, you know I suck more than anyone else here I have to memorize the complete level to beat but still have trouble and never beat any of the levels on my firt try, I'm still stuck on target terror but am somewhat awesome on DKL2 (then again who isn't)!
Also 'fun' on this evil level... Making it past the parrot part twice and both times dying on the Rattly chink of the level. Including accidentally hitting the last two bees.
Very good run, man! But if you practice more with Squitter you can make it about one minute better. Basically, try to put the webs the farthest possible from each other, including at the beginning of Squawks part.
Awesome Job. I can never get past the area with Squawks. I already knew about the speed part with the Rhino (can't remember his name right now), I discovered that part quite by accident to be honest.
Before you enter the barrel that launches you to the brambles with the spider, create a stair way of webs to go over the cliff, and drop down on the other side. You will be going off the top of the screen for a short period of time.
if ur talking about getting all the bonuses in a level id say that the level from DKC3 with the scope that always follows and shoots u is da hardest, otherwise this level is the suckiest to beat

Oh... My... God... *in shock* I HATE that level! I STILL can't get past the Squawks part. I hade a friend beat it to play the last level! The scarry part is, that's the only level he can even beat me at, lol! That was AMAZING! The squawks part is soo hard! I got lucky on not touching the thorns. Well, my trick is to be slow. But not too slow. And when the wind blows back and forth, you do the opposite controls. Uhh.. For example, The wind blows left, you go right. So u wont get blown away with the wind!
also what I did to beat this level (this is one of my favorite games so I got it on my wii) mostly just during the bee part after you go lower, is to only move forward when the wind is helping you. Also I found that the Lost World K. Rool was easier than the normal last boss :P
Mmm.... I wouldnt bother focussing on the mess up with Rattly or the careful use of Squawks.... you definitely need some practice with Squitter though. Try practicing in some of the easier levels with him and just have fun with him - dont be so cautious with your web platforms - space them out a bit.
Sheesh... Once again, only the best from Dixiegurl.
-My only gripe is that you could have done Squitter's part much faster. You probably could have shaved a good 10 seconds off your time. But still, this is the hardest level in any DKC game, and you have my utmost respect, even though you're already way better than me and had my respect. XD

I've had this game for about 15 years, and i only recall beating this level once... and that was about 2 years ago.

You seemed to go rather slowly as Squitter, but the Squawks part made up for it. Really the hardest level in the game.

Before you enter the barrel that launches you to the brambles with the spider, create a stair way of webs to go over the cliff, and drop down on the other side. You will be going off the top of the screen for a short period of time.

if ur talking about getting all the bonuses in a level id say that the level from DKC3 with the scope that always follows and shoots u is da hardest, otherwise this level is the suckiest to beat

The hardest level in DKC2 ( and all the other DKC games) is Klobber Karnage with the unstoppable barrels.

I don't understand how people think Klobber Karnage is harder than Animal Antics. It only took me a few tries to get past Klobber Karnage, but I'm still stuck on Animal Antics after playing it for hours.

klobber karnage IMO is a lot harder
this level is hard but karnage is damn near impossible, perfect timing and patience
you were really fast adn good but you could have gone faster during squitters

AHH! yeah its so hard to beat the squaks part. and even when i make it past that part to the snake, i end up screwin up on an easy jump or somethin. good work though. do u have a full speed run? i think my fastest is 2:13 or somethin like that.

Oh... My... God... *in shock* I HATE that level! I STILL can't get past the Squawks part. I hade a friend beat it to play the last level! The scarry part is, that's the only level he can even beat me at, lol! That was AMAZING! Don't worry about the part with Rattley, the fact that you can actully speed run that level, let alone BEAT the level, says enough in its self! Any good tips on how to do the Sqwaks part? Cause I've been trying for years.... *gives 5 stars, but wants to give TEN!*

The squawks part is soo hard! I got lucky on not touching the thorns. Well, my trick is to be slow. But not too slow. And when the wind blows back and forth, you do the opposite controls. Uhh.. For example, The wind blows left, you go right. So u wont get blown away with the wind!

also what I did to beat this level (this is one of my favorite games so I got it on my wii) mostly just during the bee part after you go lower, is to only move forward when the wind is helping you. Also I found that the Lost World K. Rool was easier than the normal last boss :P

Mmm.... I wouldnt bother focussing on the mess up with Rattly or the careful use of Squawks.... you definitely need some practice with Squitter though. Try practicing in some of the easier levels with him and just have fun with him - dont be so cautious with your web platforms - space them out a bit.

Sheesh... Once again, only the best from Dixiegurl.
-My only gripe is that you could have done Squitter's part much faster. You probably could have shaved a good 10 seconds off your time. But still, this is the hardest level in any DKC game, and you have my utmost respect, even though you're already way better than me and had my respect. XD
-Ironically enough, 10 minutes ago I was thhinking of this level. I said so on your pothole panic SR.
