I've to Thailand but never been to southern thailand. As far as I know, Thail people are polite and very peaceful. Noone can augue about it. Probably they are the most polite people in southeast asia subregion. Probably they are Buddhist or they are southeast asia people who normally calm and quite.

The political region of southern Thailand is considered Thai but ethnically and culturally they are malay, and yes there is RACISM involved on both sides. I've to Thailand but never been to southern thailand. As far as I know, Thail people are polite and very peaceful. Noone can augue about it. Probably they are the most polite people in southeast asia subregion. Probably they are Buddhist or they are southeast asia people who normally calm and quite.
I do not believe this was happened in thailand.

Chantravekin is right. I admittedly agree that Tak Bai incident was too harsh. It was like fishing with too fine a net. While it's true that some innocents may get caught in the net, thus resulting the unfair treatment. However, you have to consider the circumstance of the incident. Everything was in chaotic, while the ones in charge had to make the decision before dusk to resolve the situation.
Their objective was to bring those involved in the crime be brought to justice.

Maybe you people shouldnt treat others so inhumane such as the culture of dehumanizing by making people walk or crawl on their knees while you beat on them or stack bodies of innocent people on top of each other until they die of suffocation. Yea I listen to both sides, and your side is the one that is unfair. Thailand could have resolved this by negotiating with the south but instead they choose to murder more and more malays. or maybe we shouldn't abide by the law to release those who killed others, by yielding to a gang of mobs? ...They refused to disperse and allow the justice to take the course. instead, they attacked the police station with weapons, knowing that they outnumbered the authority.

while we are at it, let's picture this, what if a minority Buddhist thais in your own soil decided to slay malays in their villages and continue to do so, when they got caught red handed, the whole village of them storm the police station demanding the release of their people. when they refuse, after refusing to comply, they attack the authority with weapons. now, do you get the picture? would you allow it in your sovereign state?

lemme ask you this, how much tolerant do you people have who hold different thoughts, believe or religion than yours? ...in our constitution, we are all equal regardless of the above, even if the majority is around 90 percent Buddhists!

I dont think you understand the complexity of this issue. The political region of southern Thailand is considered Thai but ethnically and culturally they are malay, and yes there is RACISM involved on both sides. You claim your country is buddhist, then why not abide by Buddhist laws? Where are you guys compassion, why would you guys refuse to compromise with them when they had asked? I've also seen the Thai treat the Akha people like animals in a zoo.

You are wrong my friend. We understand the issue clearly. I never said Thailand is a Buddhist country. Nobody can claim ones own to be, as it's stated in the constitution. We don't run by religion's law, as that would create disunity to other religious believers.
Well then, let me ask you this. Do you remember your own people beating up the Chinese minority in Penang and and other cities a couple of decades ago? Why couldn't you compromise? ..We are one of the most yielding nation. Is yours?

You got it all wrong. We've been trying to hold talks with these radical locals, but they refuse. Buddhists and Islams had been living peacefully side by side as friendly community, but once those who received educational funds from abroad return home, all of a sudden the hell breaks loose!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a racist. I have Islamic friends too, and we agree that the problem lies on those who twist the true teachings of Koran to benefit their own.

I believe that if the gov. had really tried to resolve this issue they could have done it already. Its the lack of commitment from the gov. despite the obvious signs and protests. Hopefully it will be resolved, but it will not resolve itself.

If they really want to separate, why not choose any better theory? Many of the victim are the innocent people who don't even know how to fight. Can we consider this act as 'Courage'?
