But I've seen slo-mo videos and they blew up the still frame when Posada made the tag.  He tagged him out with Giambi's foot about an inch from home plate.

Because if you have they zoom in multiple times and you can clearly see the swipe tag on the right leg of Giambi BEFORE he steps on the plate. It was no phantom tag that you and some like to believe but a legitimate tag on the right leg. The right call had been made. It's just that you are one of the non-believers.....hey it happens.

If you ever played baseball.....all infielders (and catchers) are taught to use a swipe tag when it's a close play and you don't have your eye on the runner. That is what Posada did when he tagged Giambi, which is correct. Fact is, both Jeter and Posada made great plays....Shane Spencer didn't when he overthrew both cutoff men.

Giambi made an idiot mistake by not sliding. This may or may not have aided in the out call, but in baseball, umpires like to see players slide on close plays and often call them out if they dont (even if they may be safe). I know this as a baseball player and former umpire.

But we'll never know.
