I don't understand the difference between Mets fans and Yankees fans, I went to the local community college and asked a Biology Professor and he just said that "the only way to distinguish between types of rodents is the size of the infestation and the colorization of the fur"
Like the average MLB fan with no ties to New York, I'm a Yankee hater. That also makes me a Jeter hater. But in looking back, I wish I would've appreciated Jeter more in his prime rather than jealously always thinking he was overrated.
I just came to know that Posada is planning to retire...what a truly classy guy... Lou Gehrig may have been the classiest baseball player ever to play the game but it is truly wonderful that there are still players in this day/age who have tried to follow in his footsteps... Thank you Jorge !
Yankee fans are the luckiest in the world. There is'nt any other franchise in the history of professional sport that has the history tradition and achievement of the Yankees that is the envy of one and all

I remember watching the Boone home run and I was very happy for him as both a Yankees fan and a Reds fan. I'm still disappointed that they couldn't do anything in that World Series against Florida.
thats whay Jeter is the best shortstop ever... not talent wise, but if i had to choose a shorstop for my all time hypothetical baseball team, i would pick El Capitan.
Jeter made one of the great heads-up plays ever. Too bad Giambi was actually safe. The catcher reached right between his legs with the ball, but didn't make an actual tag until he had already touched the plate. 1:21.
@TomKaren1994 Giambi wasn't safe. If you are basing it off this video and it's a bang bang play in real time....he may look safe to "your" eyes. But I've seen slo-mo videos and they blew up the still frame when Posada made the tag. He tagged him out with Giambi's foot about an inch from home plate.
@HQVids999 I've seen every picture published from every angle, every video ever shown... there's nothing in any of them that has convinced me anything other what I've already stated. Like I said, Jeter made one of the greatest plays ever. If Giambi slides, we're not even talking about this. If the right call had been made, we wouldn't be talking about it. It doesn't diminish the level of baseball awareness and the great athletic play made by Jeter.
@TomKaren1994 I think you must be blind then if you have seen every single still frame EVER on this play. Because if you have they zoom in multiple times and you can clearly see the swipe tag on the right leg of Giambi BEFORE he steps on the plate. It was no phantom tag that you and some like to believe but a legitimate tag on the right leg. The right call had been made. It's just that you are one of the non-believers.....hey it happens.
@HQVids999 Yeah... I know... his pantleg rippled or some such thing. But, it was from him stretching over the tag, that's all. Fact is, Jeter made a great play, the catcher didn't.
@TomKaren1994 He wasn't stretching to avoid the tag, he was stretching to step on the plate. If you ever played baseball.....all infielders (and catchers) are taught to use a swipe tag when it's a close play and you don't have your eye on the runner. That is what Posada did when he tagged Giambi, which is correct. Fact is, both Jeter and Posada made great plays....Shane Spencer didn't when he overthrew both cutoff men.
@HQVids999 You're still grinding on this? And now you're making a distinction as to whether he was stretching over the tag or to step on the plate??? Say it as much as you like.... he was safe. God, let it go already.
@TomKaren1994 Well stop replying and I won't have to explain this stuff to you....shit. Maybe you should stick to some slower sports like golf or curling. Cuz baseball may be too fast for you buddy.
@HQVids999 Wow, this must really bother you. It's like you've got some kind of "I have to have the last word" obsession. What're you worried about... that if someone else gets the last comment on the subject, he won't really be out... that the reality changes? Are you that way at home, too? Have to have the last word to maintain control of your life? As far as 'replying' goes, I started this conversation. It is YOU who is replying, not me. Grind, grind, grind, grind.... grind. Hilarious.
@TomKaren1994 Wow that went WAY over your head. No wonder you think he's safe. You misinterpret what you read just like you misinterpret what you saw in videos or pictures. When you reply with stuff saying crap like the catcher didn't make a great play.....then you tell me Mr Baseball what other possible way was he supposed to make the tag? Posada anticipated he would slide so he used a swipe tag. Since Giambi is an idiot baserunner he didn't slide , which helped with the out. I don't mind
@HQVids999@TomKaren1994 Holy shit it's like listening to a bunch of 4 year olds argue! I play baseball, so here it is plain and simple. From the video, he was safe. beat the tag. Yes, posada appears to have scraped the right leg with the glove, but it's impossible to tell from our angle and much harder for the umpire in game speed.
@HQVids999@TomKaren1994 there was a bit of a ripple in Giambi's pants, but that is from his outstretched leg. posada did the right thing with the sweep tag, because he was expecting a slide. Giambi made an idiot mistake by not sliding. This may or may not have aided in the out call, but in baseball, umpires like to see players slide on close plays and often call them out if they dont (even if they may be safe). I know this as a baseball player and former umpire.
@HQVids999@TomKaren1994 Jeter made an incredible play and you have to give him credit for even being in that position to cut the ball off. Yes, if Giambi slid he most likely would have been safe. But we'll never know. I am not playing favorites with either of you, just calling it how it is. and as for whether he was trying to step on the plate or to avoid the tag, who cares? but to me he was stepping for the plate because he doesn't make any move to get out of the way of the glove.
@patriarched you obviously have not face a dude throwing a 100 mph fastball. Seeing a baseball coming at you at 90 to 100 mph is way scarier then seeing some sweaty fat dude coming at you. =D
@DwightWhite78 I noticed your lame, former "World Champions" lost last week! Gotta say, Alex Rodiguerez STRIKING OUT to END THE SEASON is POETIC JUSTICE! Two years in a row! ROFLCOPTER!
@patriarched There's no such thing as a former 'World Champion' in baseball. You win, you're crowned, and you are forever known as the (examples) 1923 World Champions, the 1927 World Champions, 1928, 1932, 1936 thru 1939, 1941, 1943... 47,49,50,51,52,53,56,58,61,62,77,78,96,98,99,2000,2009... each Champion forever known as that season's Champion. Forever. A-Rod, for example, has a real nice ring from 2009. Even now. He might even be wearing it! Glad to clear that up for you.
@patriarched A-A-And one more thing. Each franchise gets to say, (example) '10-time World Champion St Louis Cardinals'. See they're fighting for #11 as I type. But even if they lose, even if texas bends them over and fuhxem, right on the field, on TV, the Cardinals are '10 time World Champs'.
@patriarched A-A-A-A-And one more more thing. I remember when the Cards got #10! I sent them a telegram; "Congrats Cards! 10 titles! NL all-time best! All you gotta do is win back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back -to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back for the MLB record held by... yeah, the 27 time World Champion (only 26 in 2006!), 40 AL pennant winning, 17 time East Div winning champs. HEY! They even won one this year! Cheers!
@kevinwillman Giambi was safe, that was complete garbage
no man. the ump called him out. that's the out sign, see? if the ump had spread his arms with palms down like this... that means safe. But he didn't. Giambi was clearly called out. So he's out. See? Hope that helps.
@RichieD814 LOL sure thing buddy, i was at a bar last night with a bunch of people, it was packed and we started this discussion, NOBODY and i mean NOBODY took a stance on ichiro like you have. you call me biased? you are the biggest ichiro homer that ever lived, you are probably his biggest fan lol. dude keep trying to pump ichiros tires be my guest. you sir are an idiot! and another thing you dont even make any good points in your arguments you should work on that
@RichieD814 He is our mantle, he is our dimaggio, he is our lou gehrig, he is our babe. when its over they will say hes the best all around player to ever play, i cant help that. baseball is better when there are yankee greats around. i kind of feel bad for you, ill just keep watching the march to legend status, you can keep trying to deny it. i wouldnt doubt that soley because of this little feud you will deny jeet as being the legend he is to your grave. gl with that man. ICHIRO....LOL
@RichieD814 lol and one more thing, this all started with you praising the flip play, where is ichiros flip play? where is ichiros signature throw to first? where is ichiro in the clutch? where are ichiros rings? dude ichiro, really? you should have left him off your little list so we could really discuss where jeter will rank with the greats. greatest all around player. a true ambassador of the game, with all the nonsense going on with PEDs jeet has beenkeeping baseball a little clean
@RichieD814 here is who broke ichiros record for hits in the npb matt murton...i wonder if he will make your list of greats. ichiro is great i agree, but he is no jeter, what position does ichiro play? outfield? um....alright a shortstop or a out fielder. when all is said and done you will be talking about jeter. every era, every generation has its greats, that is why your "list" is so long. lol. if you try to put ichiro in that same discussion when they are both done there are too many what ifs
@RichieD814 did you really put ichiro on that list lol in years to come when his career is over you will be talking about him with those players you just mentioned and others. it will always be a debate, people always have their opinion, but the fact is when he is done playing he will be a name in that debate. i understand its hard for people to take a statement like that, and thats because he isnt done yet. having watched jeter more than cobb dimagg the mick to name a few hes the best
Hello. Why is there no proper baseball clips or full games on youtube like there is with nba/nfl etc?? All i ever find is footage from handheld cameras in the stands. Are there copyright laws stopping it or something?. I would really appreciate it if someone let me know. Thanks
Wow what a great video and anyone that thinks Giambi was safe is an idiot. He was clearly out. He got tagged right before he hit home plate. He should've slid or dove into home anyway.
im not a big baseball fan so i dont get why the "flip" was such an amazing play

@RichieD814 He is our mantle, he is our dimaggio, he is our lou gehrig, he is our babe. when its over they will say hes the best all around player to ever play, i cant help that. baseball is better when there are yankee greats around. i kind of feel bad for you, ill just keep watching the march to legend status, you can keep trying to deny it. i wouldnt doubt that soley because of this little feud you will deny jeet as being the legend he is to your grave. gl with that man. ICHIRO....LOL
Marsdevilsvolta 7 months ago
@RichieD814 lol and one more thing, this all started with you praising the flip play, where is ichiros flip play? where is ichiros signature throw to first? where is ichiro in the clutch? where are ichiros rings? dude ichiro, really? you should have left him off your little list so we could really discuss where jeter will rank with the greats. greatest all around player. a true ambassador of the game, with all the nonsense going on with PEDs jeet has beenkeeping baseball a little clean

@RichieD814 freaking ichiro homer
Marsdevilsvolta 7 months ago
@RichieD814 here is who broke ichiros record for hits in the npb matt murton...i wonder if he will make your list of greats. ichiro is great i agree, but he is no jeter, what position does ichiro play? outfield? um....alright a shortstop or a out fielder. when all is said and done you will be talking about jeter. every era, every generation has its greats, that is why your "list" is so long. lol. if you try to put ichiro in that same discussion when they are both done there are too many what ifs
Marsdevilsvolta 7 months ago

You should've had the Charlie Hayes catch in foul territory to end the 1996 World Series. But awesome video. Go Yankees!

I think you're missing something...or shall I say 27 of them. (ie. the World Series championship)
I'd probably would also say Jimmy Leyritz's home run would be right up there too.
crawforda1769 9 months ago 3
@crawforda1769 the videos are near impossible to find because they are all copywritten.. I found as much as possible.
